Happened upon Ebby's by accident and enjoyed a very delicious meal and some fun conversation with our server/barman. Although its a bit out of the way for us (1/2 hr) we will definitely be back.

I have so enjoyed this place this past month while I've been in town! The food is great with a very welcoming atmosphere. Had one of the best espresso martinis made by Angelica, one of the bartenders. Went in for my birthday and the owner Tina definitely made me feel at home and makes the time to ensure a great experience no matter the occasion for all customers. A must go to if you're in the area!

Awesome staff making guests feel welcome! Front staff went above and beyond to make a special day for my daughter when she’s so far from home. Wonderful people and excellent hospitality!!

#1 I got food poisoning.
#2 8 pm reservation turned into 845 seating.
#3 I sat in a tent surrounded by dirty tables and some guy that had his Great Dane dog sitting at the next table. Not a service dog.

Went in Labor Day evening for dinner. First thing we were greeted by a very unhappy and unfriendly hostess. We waited approximately a half hour and then were seated at a high top outside. Once seated we waited and observed that the waitress was totally overwhelmed and running back and forth trying to keep up. She really made an effort to keep up, but just couldn't. In the end, the food was not hot and the steak was not cooked correctly. I think it caught fire , it was so charred. The rolls were still frozen inside. I realize they were all overwhelmed, however they should have stopped seating people and handled what they had. Not a great experience.

I will never return to this restaurant. We had a 6:30 reservation and never got seated for an hour. The hostess kept seating people she clearly knew before the people that had reservations. The service was so slow we almost decided to leave. We didn’t get our meal for about another hour. This is ridiculous. The young man early on that was singing was really good but then they brought in another DJ and you couldn’t hear yourself think. It looked like they had plenty of staff but they were so inefficient it took forever to get served. I had the halibut and it was dry and tasteless. This is the first time I have ever written a review about any restaurant but I just can’t tell you how horrendous the whole experience was. Skip this place McDonalds is better.

Waitress and hostess were snobs. Waitress did not ask if we rented coffee or dessert. Food was good. Prices were competitive with other shore restaurants. When you make reservation request indoor or outdoor seating. I was not asked when i made ours so we sat outside which wasnt bad with the weather that day. Parking is tough on summer weekends.

I made a reservation at Ebby’s on 7/27/24 for 8/17/24. When we called the week before to confirm, the reservation was lost. The owner, Tina, offered family style dining instead. The highest priced appetizer and dinner we chose was $42 combined. Tina told us it would be $65 per person (not including alcohol, tax and tip). The extra $23 per person was to cover soda and coffee. We said “no thank you” and we’d rather order from the menu

We had a 6:30 reservation. Our group started arriving around 6, but we were told we could not be sat until our entire party arrived. By 6:45, our table was broken down and others were sat. Parking is also abysmal- there is no parking specifically for Ebby’s and very little street parking. Tina was claiming it was past 7pm at this point, we showed her on our watches and phones that the time was actually 6:46pm. While I understand there are expectations of restaurant patrons, Tina should have mentioned this at least once in the many times we spoke. As the owner of this establishment, Tina should also be aware of the parking situation.

She then insinuated that the wait would not be long and she would make it up to us with drinks… this was not the case. She wanted us to buy overpriced, watered down drinks at the bar outside. The purple haze “specialty” drink was undrinkable to several of us. The cosmo I had was more or less cranberry juice in a martini glass.

I also observed several other reservations waiting, while friends of the owners got right into the restaurant without a problem.

Two hours later, my family and I had waited long enough. My brother asked Tina for our cake and he was ignored. My second brother asked for the cake 15 minutes later. Finally, Tina came outside screaming at me about how ridiculous I was being for wanting to leave. I understand that loosing a party of 20 is a monetary loss to her business, the way she handled this situation and her behavior were completely unacceptable.

Not only that, my brother witnessed her talking badly about us for leaving. She felt that it was okay to speak to other customers this way because “it’s a free country”. It is a free country. This is why after waiting for two hours and multiple family members being insulted by Tina, it was time to go. Why would I ask my family to stay and give this restaurant business when they treated us so poorly? The fact that Tina couldn’t seem to grasp the problem with her behavior was astounding.

The entire experience was horrible… lost reservation, refusing to seat us, the wait time and the rudeness throughout it all As someone who waitressed and bartended for 10 years, I have never witnessed such unprofessional, nasty behavior. Ebby’s clearly does not understand how the restaurant business is run. The next day, I read the reviews- it is very clear that Tina’s behavior is the norm and this establishment is consistently run in this way.

To be fair, she did offer us a $100 gift card. I believe this was offered to us because she didn’t want the negative reviews our party of 20 promised. Save your money and your sanity and go to any other restaurant on the island.

Lastly, I want to give a shout to Lenny’s in Lavallette for saving the day. We called them as they were closing, but explained our Ebby’s nightmare and they made us food. That is stellar customer service. Tina and the whole Ebby’s team could learn a lot from Lenny’s

If there was an Olympic event for providing terrible customer service, Ebby’s would take gold. My family attempted to dine at Ebby’s for a birthday, but our reserved table was given away since we were missing some members of our party - something that was not stated at the time of making the reservation.

After waiting over 1.5 hours to be seated at another table, we decided to leave so my brother asked the host, Tina, if she could retrieve the birthday cakes we brought from the back. Tina proceeded to ignore him for 15 minutes before she went to another member of our party to inform them that our table was “ready” (apparently ready means that the table still has the dirty dishes from the previous group).

After repeating that we just wanted our cakes so we could leave, Tina attempted to shame us by asking if we were serious and saying how ridiculous that was. Tina finally retrieved our cakes, but couldn’t even wait until we were out the door before talking trash about our family to another group of waiting customers. I asked her to please stop talking about our family but according to Tina, “it’s a free country” so I guess she’s absolved of being a terrible host.

While I appreciate Ebby’s reaching out the next day to offer a gift card for their complete failure of hospitality, we respect ourselves too much to dine at a restaurant that treats their customers like this — and our experience hardly seems unique after reading other reviews. Sure you might be able to be seated here without an issue, but if you are on vacation and your time is precious, do you really want to take that chance? Save your time, save your money, and save your self-respect by taking your business to one of the many other wonderful restaurants in Seaside.
