About China Chef

China Chef is a restaurant that has seen better days. Despite its rich history, the current experience is disappointing. The drinks, such as Mai Tai and Pina Colada, are subpar, and the noodle chips served with sweet sauce instead of hot mustard are a letdown. The food is also lacking, with dishes like MooGooGai Pan and orange chicken being bland and overcooked. However, there are some highlights, including a tasty wonton soup, fresh shrimp dumplings, and pork ribs. The service is generally quick and attentive, and the restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere. It is known for its authentic Cantonese dim sum, which is similar to old-school teahouse standards, with only one type of tea available. Not all snacks are always on the menu, so customers need to ask. The owner is polite and speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. The restaurant has lots of parking and is a good option for families and those wanting an affordable, authentic dining experience. Despite its decline, China Chef remains a popular spot for dim sum.

Had an order of pastie fried dumpling with soy sauce, tasteless. Husband had MooGooGai...read full review
