Dined this Sunday around 2:30 pm and no wait. Love the decor. The food and drinks are pricey for what you get. House mojito is $17. Shrimp tostones appetizer $18 (you get 3). Fish tacos $18. Total bill for 2 drinks, guacamole, appetizer and fish tacos $106.29. Be alert that they automatically include an 18% tip and they add an additional 4% to the total bill if you pay by credit card. I didn’t like that. First time I am charged a credit card up charge in a restaurant.

John was our server and he gave an amazing service, it shows how well experienced he is and also shows how well he treats the customers. I would definitely eat here again and I would love for him to be our server again🤗🤗🤗🤗

Food is good, we went because we had a $100 gift card… when we went to use it they didn’t accept it because it wasn’t purchased at that location but at their Rochelle Park location… one company but apparently gift cards aren’t able to be used across different locations. Very disappointed… service was ok at best..

Food is great, service is pretty good, atmosphere is great but too loud. The auto-gratuity not being disclosed anywhere or at any time is a huge problem—I’ve double-tipped and of course bartender doesn’t say a word. 2x $13 margaritas turn into $40 somehow with up charges and undisclosed gratuity charges. This issue needs to be fixed or people won’t come back. It’s a thriving business with great food and clearly good profit margins—seems unnecessary to constantly try to gouge your customers for an extra 10-20% here there and everywhere you can. Management needs to fix it.

I am so torn in how to review this place. We absolutely love the food and vibe. The food, in particular, is outstanding and the drinks are fantastic. The “issue” with El Asadero is they have some really shady check practices. First of all, gratuity is auto added to everything. Which is fine, however, it’s not disclosed anywhere in advance. So if you don’t read through your itemized receipt and just look at the CC receipt, where they leave another open gratuity line, you will double tip. But ok, we caught it all good

They will also add on up charges onto your check. I ordered a margarita, waiter asked me what tequila I wanted. I asked what does it come with and he said Casamigos. I said great. He then upcharged $10 for that which I caught and as soon as I called it out he ran to get it fixed-because he 100% knew he told me it was included

Anyway, food is great and we really like it there otherwise-so I guess just read through your check carefully before you put down your CC and then enjoy!!

My first time visiting el asadero in Secaucus. Was amazing! LINA my waitress was amazing, super attentive, she recommended what we ordered.. my family and I were satisfied with her recommendations. I will definitely plan of visiting again with my family!
