Sakai Ramen Secaucus

Long wait while place was empty. More than half an hour wait bc server prioritize take out/delivery orders instead. (note: be prepared to wait long bc there is only one server) Portions were extremely small and very skimpy for the price you pay. About $18 for a bowl of Sakai Ramen with mostly noodles, 2 pcs of fatty pork chashu (it was all fat, such disrespect), 2 pcs of old and weirdly off putting taste of chicken chashu, that was not for consumption. Even though, I'm about supporting small businesses, this will be our first and last time eating ramen here. We will venture off to avoid this place and find better ramen (and probably cheaper, too!) Next time, do better research bc the reviews about this place did not match our experience.

Probably the worst ramen experience ever in New Jersey. We went shopping nearby and stumbled upon this plaza and Sakai Ramen. Service was slow, waited over 30 mins for our ramen and spring rolls. They gave us all fatty pieces of pork slices which was absurd and disgusting and inedible. I've seen other photos on here and ours were not anywhere close. We paid $61 total + tips = $70 for ramen noodles. I would recommend checking other spots in the area.

I will preface this review by saying I typically never review restaurants on google / yelp whether for good or bad purposes - I'm going out of my way for Sakai Ramen because of how amazing of an experience I had.

1. The food truly shocked me being surrounded by Chili's, Cava, and other chains; the N1 ramen spicy is phenomenal and I will be visiting Secaucus to order again.
2. The portions are amazing - typical NYC ramen restaurants I leave still hungry. That is not the case with this establishment.
3. My waitress Emma was extremely helpful, welcoming, and nice to talk to. Pointed me in all the right directions on the menu for someone who is inexperienced with ramen.

For those reasons, I'm happy to right this positive review for Sakai Ramen and highly encourage anyone looking for a restaurant in the plaza area to 100% go. Excited for my next visit!

First of all, the service is amazing. I think they are mom daughter duo, the way they greeted and make you feel special made me lil skeptical that the food may not be as good but I was wrong , the ramen , the chicken bun , popcorn and shrimp tempura was amazing. It’s the small things they did that made me really feel about the restaurant. I would definitely come back here again and again…

It's not an authentic ramen shop run by the Japanese. However, it is pretty good that caught my surprise.

First time having ramen that’s not out of the microwave!! Super friendly and welcoming staff. I had the number one with rocking shrimp and both were super tasteful. Will be back soon!!!

This spot is a hidden gem! The ramen is fantastic. My life’s mission has been finding the perfect ramen and I’ve actively sought out ramen spots being the hardest critic each and every time. Todays visit has far by exceeded my expectations in a plethora of ways. The broth was flavorful, the pork was tender and perfectly marinated, toppings were a healthy serving at no additional cost. I can’t stress enough how great the ramen was. We had a Sakai ramen one regular and the other spicy.

Decent ramen place with hearty portions. We got the vegetable gyoza, vegetable ramen and the oko fries. The oko fries were so good. The broth for the ramen was wonderful. The gyoza were also good. Our server was very accommodating as well. The interior was so cute and cozy.
