I ordered my drinks from Starbucks located at the Grove in advance on the app. Upon collecting them, I politely said to the lady who worked there (Deseree) sorry to bother you but please can I have a pup cup.
One of the things I love about Starbucks is they give you pup cup free of charge. It’s basically a really small cup with some cream in and it’s such a lovely thing they do for dogs.
However, Deseree said to me, no, if you want one you have to go and get to the back of the queue. I replied politely, but normally I just ask for one upon collecting my drinks as you can’t ask for one on the app. She replied aggressively, well our policy has changed! I then replied, when did it change? as I was actually at another Starbucks yesterday and they were kind enough to give me a pup cup. Her reply it changed today!
Just to be clear it was by no means busy and the two people waiting for their drinks looked at me in shock and spoke to me when we were leaving about how unbelievably rude she was.
I called two other Starbucks upon leaving to see if the policy had now changed and they both confirmed it had not. They actually apologised for Deseree’s behaviour.
Because of the way I was treated and spoken to by Deseree, I will no longer be going to this Starbucks. I will opt to drive to another more friendly one like Middletown Market Place or Red Bank. I have always had such a lovely experience there, nice polite decent people who actually enjoy working there. Unlike Deseree, who clearly hates her job and maybe would be best suited to a back office position, where she doesn’t have to deal with the public.

I actually hate this Starbucks location the only reason why I had come to this is one was because it's the closest to where I had dropped someone off for an appointment. I have only been here a couple of times before and the experience has never been a good one. The only hope is the older woman that works here she actually pays attention and doesn't have a piss poor attitude like some of the other younger people that work in this location. I had to watch and wait for the coffee maker to make my carmel macchioto who was so busy bsing that she wasn't paying attention to what she was doing. She certainly can't multitask so therfore maybe she shouldn't talk while she's making the drinks. She did my drink wrong and I had asked her to redo it and boy did she have a major attitude. I received my drink and it was close enough so I had taken it. It shouldn't be close enough it should be correct. I have a disorder called Shotzky ring and you have tendencies to choke but it's not obvious when you are because you can talk. Anyway, I had a bite of my cheese Danish and I started choking. I had gone to the side of the counter to ask for a cup of water with no ice ,I had gotten the attention to an employee that had an iPad in her hand who wasn't doing anything constructive and asked her because I was choking and it was an emergergent situation. I was told in a nasty manner with an attitude that I had to go on line for that so I exclaimed that it was an emergency and that I was choking so instead of just getting me the water quickly she said don't yell at me and if you had told me that from the beginning. What's the difference! I mean clearly I was distressed. She had given me the water with ice which I had asked for without especially with ice if swallowed could have made my situation worse. I had to go outside and discard the ice real quick so I could try to drink the water in order to alleviate the problem. Between the attitude and service there clearly is a problem. I have gone to other Starbucks and they are wonderful specifically in Hazlet nj near Best Western and in Middletown near Levotis both are always exceptional but not this one .

Always happy with my hot and cold Starbucks coffee - during the winter, at work, on the road during the summer, and at NJ/NYC Starbucks cafe.
Middletown is the best. Though I wish they would bring back the comfortable and cozy chairs and atmosphere.

The absolute worst Starbucks I’ve ever been to! Long lines. Rude workers. Didn’t honor my birthday drink and instead told me to go to another location. When I asked for my money back they did that wrong as well. When asking for a manager the little girl lied to my face and then proceeded to laugh about my issue and concern of my refund! Totally unprofessional in every way. Never even got my food or drink.

Not a big fan of Starbucks. Coffee's okay but I believe it's overrated and way too expensive. Not crazy about the vibe in there either. But a lot of people love it

We went to Starbucks around 11:30
on Sunday. My sister now lives in CT now and I live in TN. Starbucks used to be a wonderful customer experience in Shrewsbury. Not so anymore . The service was poor on all levels.
The staff was overwhelmed and we waited 20 minutes for 2 grand lattes. The old community atmosphere is non-existent. Corporate needs serious damage controll. .

Very hustle bustle...no polite interaction with barristas. Waited 15 minutes for a lukewarm grande latte This location has lost its fun coffee house vibe. Feels very fast foodish and impersonal. It felt like online orders took precedence over in-person customers too. I used to love browsing gifts and listening to the music while waiting. It was so noisy and busy...I couldn't wait to leave. This location needs to open a separate online pick up shop...was terribly busy and pushed in house customers aside. Too bad...it used to be a nice place to sit and visit after shopping.

Worst Starbucks I've been to across the country. Staff extremely unfriendly to put it mildly, slow to make orders, 20 mins from online order time, and messed up my wife's Caramel Frappuccino half decaf. When asked to remake, they seemed bothered and took additional 10 mins. Avoid at all costs. Not the atmosphere or service you expect from the name.

I am a former Starbucks partner and have noticed a dramatic decline in the customer service I receive at Starbucks these days. I've been wondering whether it's a change in training tactics, potentially a newer generation of workers that don't value customer service, or something else. I'm still not really sure. But when I walked into this location, and interacted with my barista today, I was reminded what Starbucks used to be. Admittedly, she was a slightly older employee, so she may value these things simply because of her age. She moved slightly more slowly, and with intention, but her focus was on me, the customer, which is where it should be. And my drinks, for once in a very long time, were made perfectly. I'm hoping that Starbucks has not lost what made it great, and this employee is a reflection of that. Thank you for great service today!

The ppl who work there never want to make my drink literally every day
One girl literally let my order sit because she didn’t know how to make it
They are the worst group of woman ever
There use to be a nice man who worked there he was amazing
They literally act like they hate their jobs and act as if I’m wrong if o ask for my drink
And I’m not sure if it’s a race thing or not but it’s definitely unprofessional
