Flava Jamaican & Soul Food

I got the jerk chicken, with a side rice n peas of Mac n cheese and the food was SPECTACULAR!! The chicken fell off the bone it was so tender, the flavor was immaculate, and even had a nice kick to it! Reading the other reviews I was in distraught because this place is nothing like what the reviews said. LISTEN TO ME! You will not be disappointed in their food. It is delicious, super affordable for a great portion, and amazing service! Best 15.99 I have ever spent!!

I've been eating here since December of 2007, from a referral of my ex girlfriend. Unlike our relationship, the Jerk chicken with extra rice and peas never failed..!! 😋 Honestly the best Jerk chicken I've ever had! No 🧢

Been coming here since I was kid ! Really great food and experience. I got the fried fish it came out within 15mins very hot fresh and man it had FLAVA ! Os also ask for the flava sauce too! It was a game changer. Thank you to the owners they were very hospitable 🙏🏾

This establishment is extremely disappointing. The portions are minuscule, the sides are subpar, and the owners’ attitude is appalling..

The food is authentic and outstanding, at a very reasonable price. Consider ordering the X-Large, as the portions always provide a nice lunch the next day. The service is fine, however, some customers have unreasonable expectations (i.e. they don’t want lima beans yet it is the long simmering of the lima beans that imparts the delicious flavors) so please draw your own conclusions. Finally, the open kitchen is immaculate. I wish that I could keep my kitchen as clean as Flava keeps theirs.

Ordered from this restaurant through instacart/uber eats today and found the LONGEST piece of hair in my rice. Absolutely disgusting. guess no one preparing the food has respect enough to wear a hair net.

This was my first time trying this restaurant, and overall, I’d say it was pretty decent. When I called to inquire whether they had oxtail, the friendly and kind woman who answered said yes, so I let her know I was on my way. That’s when she explained that you actually place your order over the phone and pick it up at their drive-up window — it’s not a dine-in restaurant. I was perfectly fine with that and thought it made the experience more convenient and unique. I placed my order, and she asked if I wanted the large or small platter, explaining the price difference. Since it was my first time trying the food, I opted for the smaller platter.

When I arrived shortly after placing my order, my food was ready, hot, and waiting. The woman at the window greeted me warmly, remembered my order, and even included a menu for next time. Her kindness and great customer service really stood out and made me want to come back, which I will.

As for the food — the sweet potatoes were delicious, tender, and perfectly seasoned, not too sweet. The oxtail was nice and tender, with beans that were also tender and flavorful. The portion (even though I ordered the smaller platter) was filling and satisfying. The macaroni and cheese was fairly good — not my favorite, but decent. I also liked that the cornbread was cut thinner instead of the usual thick, dry style — it was soft, moist, and pretty good.

Overall, everything was reasonably priced, the service was excellent, and the meal satisfied my craving. Looking forward to trying more of the menu!

I had the wing platter with mac and cheese and yams, great meal I finished the whole thing. I will be back to try oxtails when im in south jersey!

I definitely love this place . The ribs literally come off the bone.. and the spice used is one of a kind.. never tasted anything like this.. mac and cheese and collard greens are absolutely delicious.
