I used to truly enjoy Friendly's, but it is far from its days of glory. It is not as clean as one would hope and the service is absolutely horrid. Given the typically young staff, service is shockingly slow and staff is so miserable it makes for a rather depressed atmosphere. I know what your thinking, I can just grab ice cream. You can, but it will not be a quick experience and the staff treats you with a certain disdain that you are only getting ice cream. It's a sad end for a formerly enjoyable place.

It's been a long while since I've hit up a Friendly's. Randomly decided to stop in for lunch. Was there around the 1pm-2pm time period. Weren't super busy. Staff was friendly & attentive. I ordered Fried Pickles for an appetizer, then got the Captain's Platter for my meal. Ended it all with the Forbidden Fudge Brownie Sundae. The Fried Pickles themselves were fine, but the dipping sauce was too thin for my liking. My Captain's Platter was good. My main complaint is not getting enough tarter sauce. I did ask for more, which they did get me, but it was just another small amout like the first. (The two could actually fill one container fully.) As for the Forbidden Fudge Sundae, what's there to say. It was delicious. Overall, it was a decent meal and something I hadn't had in a while. Maybe I'll try and swing by again soon to get one of the melt sandwiches.

Syria was so sweet and was super friendly... haha get it? I guess it's a quality that they require here, but super nice and definitely will be back!
