Arrived Saturday at 12:15, no line, very little wait. Ordered shrimp and scallop meal with cornbread, butter beans and Mac n cheese. Shrimp good, scallops thin , Mac n cheese dry and hard, butter beans , some cooked others half cooked. Cornbread tasted like the clear wrap. The whole time I was sitting in the restaurant, a gentleman kept saying, make sure my Mac n cheese creamy! … I should’ve said the same!.. I probably won’t be going back any time soon.. I was highly excited due to the reviews…

I ordered the Whiting fish with chicken wings and fries for the kids and they were okay tasting. My husband had the same except the fries were replaced for 2 sides , mac & cheese and yams, which were terrible. No flavor for yams and the mac & cheese were just noodles and butter. I ordered the stewed chicken (will add picture for better visual) and received boiled chicken with potatoes, carrots and gravy. Terrible ! I will never order from here again. Cornbread was super bland !

The chicken was good but the Mac and cheese was dry and no flavor the yams where good as well but the Mac and cheeses is supposed to be the rock of the soul food and this was not it corn bread was 👎🏻

I ordered several things to feed 4 people. I got a big pan of fried chicken, hibachi shrimp, mac and cheese, Cabbage, rice and gravy, cornbread. The chicken was the only edible thing. The rest tasted like it came from a factory. It didn't taste like souk southern food at all. Everything had a similar taste to it like it was all cooked in the same pot. The mac & cheese was really dry, the chicken tasted like old oil, the shrimp are advertised to be jumbo but they were not jumbo. They were fishy. Good southern cabbage is always a favorite of mine but this cabbage is a disgrace. I don't know who owns this place but I don't think they are from the south. I am shocked at why this place had reviews over 4 stars. It's was awful. We didn't eat any if it and ordered burgers because we were all still hungry.

I ordered fried fish..the picture on the menu made me do it. But the fish I got wasn't crispy it was soggy. The shrimp was good and the sides were good but for the price I paid and the fish being the main thing it could have been much better. That's the only thing I ever ordered from there.

My wife love this place and so do I this is our family go to when my wife has had a day of shopping and to tired to cook !or if its me trying to act like i cooked lol everything this place cook is good ,its plenty of parking and other great stores nearby if I had one complaint it would be that The Mac needs more cheese and they close on tuesdays

I ordered 3 dinners with the whiting fish, baked Mac and cheese, collard greens and candied yams. Let’s start by saying the yams were plain, as if they came straight out of a can, the greens were spicy but not well seasoned, the baked Mac and cheese is not soul food max and cheese at all, it lacks favor and it tasted like plain macaroni with salt and pepper and small pieces of velveeta cheese, the fried fish was the best part of the meal, it was seasoned well, but fried very lightly. I would not spend this type of money at this place again, so yeah, I won’t be back nor would I recommend it. It’s not the cleanest place in town either.
