Carlos Compadres is an absolute gem. We tried the Tacos Árabes, Semita, and Chapulines, and every single dish was phenomenal. The flavors were bold, authentic, and true to Puebla-style cuisine. It honestly felt like being transported straight to Puebla City with every bite.

The Tacos Árabes were perfectly seasoned and wrapped in soft pita-style bread, the Cemita was loaded with fresh ingredients and packed with flavor, and the Chapulines were a fun, crunchy, and truly authentic touch you rarely find outside of Mexico.

If you’re looking for real Puebla food in New Jersey, this is the spot. Not only is the food top-notch, but the authenticity and attention to detail make it stand out from the typical taco places around. Highly recommended!

And I really want to add this the food is finally spicy. I’ll getting tired of places holding back the real Mexican spicy of food.

I was over charged for a burrito bowl. 17 dollars. On the menu it's say 11 dollars. But I noticed they charged separately for each topping. I had beans and rice with it. It was no beans all sauce from the beans. A handful of rice. Chicken was just thrown together with toppings on top. The food was horrible. I will never eat here again. It had no taste at all. Then I walk in to order and they just staring at me, no one said hello! That should've been my exit sign! However never again. I only gave them a try because I was having blood work done at quest and it was a new place.

Firstly, let me say that everyone here is very nice and eager to please their customers. With that being said, this was my second time visiting this restaurant today. The first time I ordered the shrimp tacos and this time with my daughter who ordered the chicken enchiladas. Both times the food was heavily over spiced and or hot from too much chilies and or jalapeños, etc., this time especially with my daughter‘s chicken enchiladas the heat was so overwhelming. We couldn’t even taste the chicken and after a couple of bites, we had to stop eating. Unfortunately it was 930 and the restaurant was already closed so we could not take it back to ask them to make my daughter a new platter without all of the heavy spice so she can enjoy her food that she paid for. So just a caution to my neighbors out there who do not like their food overly spiced or hot from an excess of chilies, spices, jalapeños and peppers, etc. , make sure you tell them to omit some of the spices, chilies, jalapeños, and or peppers that will create too much heat for your pallet so you can enjoy.

My family decided we wanted tacos for dinner and we googled tacos and this lovely place came up! Food was delicious, service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was nice as well! We are Already talking about going back to eat there again!!🤗

Very expensive place and the food is average.
I was told we were getting a lunch special and ended up paying 48.77 for 2 plates and 2 waters.
I can’t imagine if it was regular price.
The portions were small and the plate was filled with sauce instead of food.
I will not recommend it.
I will never go back. .
