Anchorage Tavern Restaurant

A well known eatery in Somers Point NJ. The food was good but it took far to long to be served. We ordered sandwiches. Nothing fancy. This is our second bad experience there and now we're not sure if we will return. Get it together people!

Classic place, good food, good service and atmosphere. My first time back in 60 years, didn’t realize it was still there.

I got a filet mignon which was absolutely the creamiest most delightful steak I have had in so many years. The staff was attentive and solicitous. Everything was gracious and quite enjoyable. The atmosphere was very wonderful

Food was great, wait for a table on a friday night was manageable. They moved tables quickly. If you’re looking for more of a tavern/bar experience, make sure they know that’s what u want so they sit u in the bar area. Got sat in the dining room and although server was great and food was great wasn’t really what I wanted. Rookie mistake by me.

Food was beyond good!! Excellent!! Service was great and pleasant. If I had any complaints, it would be that the tables are very close together and it was somewhat noisy. But I wouldn't let that stop me from going back!!

We come in often for bite eat and we’re local my husband has commented numerous times how dirty bathroom are but shame because everything else is nice.

The Anchorage never disappoints! We have one meal here every year and the food is consistently good, the service excellent and if you're lucky enough to get a table on the porch, the view is wonderful. But, I love the dining room also!

Awesome food and great selection. We've been going here for over 20 years. Bartenders, waitresses/ waiters and the staff are the best! Always a great experience.

Great experience

Good spot for casual dinner or appetizers. There was a cool bar in the red room where you
Could hold a conversation. Food was solid and atmosphere had that South Jersey Feel.

The service is nice and friendly stuff. Food and drinks are to say nicely- not good. Not good ingredients, not delicious meals.

The wife & I like to try different restaurants when we visit so we decided to try Anchorage Tavern based on the reviews we arrived on Friday night at 6 and they were extremely busy was a little over a hour wait but when we got seated we got our drinks fast and then people sat next to us and was a large party which got served before us as in appetizers on which we waited a total of 30 minutes before we got out appetizers the table next to us got their appetizers 15 minutes before us and we were there 10 minutes before them and they also got their dinner before us it was just 4 of us and 8 of them I don't understand how they were getting served before is but like I said I knew they were busy but it was getting late and my kids were hungry and getting tired then I started getting annoyed but we got out food waitress was very nice I decided to keep quiet because i didn't know if it was the kitchens fault or her fault but I will give them another try not a very good first time experience but things happen.

New ownership is doing a bad job. Just tried to put an order in over the phone and they turn down the order. I’ve been going here for years and will no longer be going in the future
