Best thing about this place is the band...Big Foot Band, I think. They are good. There is a special...$17 for a bowl of steamers...um....they are tiny and cannot be chewed. Terrible. Waitress didn't even know to bring us separate plates. Last time I was here, it was decent. Had a salad. Tip to whoever does the menu: get good quality clams and either give less per serving or charge more. Ate here 08/20/23.

Terrible all the way around ! . First Hostess wanted to seat us at two separate tables , no where near each other(a party of 7 adults, and 2 kids). We refuse, so they put tables together for us. Apps come out, we have no silverware or dishes, Have to go find server . Entrees are dropped off by a food runner, we were never asked if we needed anything else.. Burgers were thin steamed patties, didn't taste like beef, the bacon was burned and inedible on 3 sandwiches. . Rolls on chicken sandwiches were stale, fries were cold. Server NEVER CAME back to table for us to get a drink, or to send back food. Bathroom was filthy.

Fresh chicken tenderloins that were terrific,are are now smaller frozen tenders at $14.00 for 6. Cheesteak is also $14.00 with not even a pickle slice served on the side. Very disappointing.

The bartenders were very friendly. I went off season and there were a lot of locals. Everyone was so nice. There was a good band and a fun party atmosphere. The food was ok- nothing special but anyone could find something to eat.

Went to Caroline's by the bay with my wife one afternoon last week. We ordered a beer, and a glass of wine. I gave the bartender, Alecia a $100.00 bill. She gave me change for a $20.00. When I questioned her, she got snippy, and told me I was wrong. My wife and another customer supported my assertation. She went into a small room, came out less than a minute later and claimed she reviewed the tape, and that the bill was a $20.00 I requested she show me the tape, and she claimed once it is reviewed, its erased. ???? never heard of such a thing. As we were finishing our drink, an older gentleman came up and told us this is Alecia's norm. he also said the manager/owner is fully aware and doesn't care. AVOID THE SCAM

Great venue to see a band. Inside and outside bars and seating. Bar and wait service is excellent. Food and portions are good. Plenty of parking.

A dive bar that wants to be a restaurant! They don't do either well. HORRIBLE SERVICE! Wait staff can't answer basic questions. Long wait times for food and drinks. This is a burger place NOT a seafood restaurant. No fresh fish, crabs, lobster etc. Look elsewhere!
We ate here because we were staying across the street and didn't feel like driving anywhere. Glad we did! We split the crab imperial appetizer, which came in 5 little crabshells. It had a nice zing to it, and was very good. Then we both had what we agreed afterward was probably the best Philly cheesesteak we've ever eaten. (We'd been eating seafood for 2 days and wanted meat). Service was very quick and efficient, the beer was cold! Be aware that your bill comes in 2 parts: one for the meal and one for the bar drinks. The only issue we had was that the band, while playing music we very much enjoyed, was really too loud for the size of the place. No need to have that volume, we were sitting in the small dining room area and it was still quite loud. We would definitely eat here again.

Had a really nice dinner at Caroline's before enjoying the open mic night entertainment at the bar. It was a lot of fun with a great bar staff. The menu is varied from bar food to burgers to seafood, pasta and steaks. I had some steamed clams in white wine butter and garlic to start. I then had some fettucine with a pink sauce topped with shrimp. Capped off the meal with a medium rare ribeye with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Everything was perfectly prepared. The clams were tender and the sauce was delicious. I could have eaten a whole loaf of bread dipped into the sauce. The pasta came out al dente and the sauce was really well balanced accented by sun dried tomatoes and tender, plump shrimp. It was a nice surprise to get a pasta dish of that quality. The steak was done to a medium rare perfection. The steak had a great crusty char and was seasoned well with garlic, salt and pepper. The temperature of the steak was perfect. A real talent is needed to do that for a 14 oz steak. Red potato lumpy mash and grilled asparagus were the perfect complements to the steak. Only criticism I have is I wish they had a wine list with some good choices to go with the great food. Had a glass of cabernet from the bar that was actually very good but the food of that caliber deserves some better wine choices. I highly recommend Caroline's for a great meal that's not the bar norm of a burger and fries or chicken wings. Having had the better food on the menu, I actually can't wait to try the burgers, wings and crab cakes. Nice job all around from great food, staff, bar and entertainment. Only thing outdoing all of that is the great people who run the place, those who come to enjoy a night out and the musicians who participated in the open mic jam. Can't wait to go back and eager to try the place in nicer weather.

Stll warm enough to enjoy sitting outside with a view of Atlantic City and the most beautiful orange moonrise. Great service. Excellent crab cake and wedge salad. The chocolate mousse cake was decadently delicious. Can’t wait to return.

Last time I was there a month ago I gave the bar tender a Fifty dollar bill and she said it was a twenty. She robbed me then had me thrown out cuz I told her to check the cameras. Everytime I go there every few years there is a problem. This is a dive bar with all losers working there.
