We dined here a couple of weeks ago and I was looking to go back and it now says they are closed. I am a bit surprised by this as our food was really good and our server Jorge was outstanding!

Showed up as soon as they opened on Saturday. Place is unique, vibe is awesome.
Ceviche with leche de tigre was phenomenal. Bartender was very nice. Will be back soon!
First time Customers … we always seem to be disappointed these days when we try new places …. NOT here … food was AWESOME ! Our waitress Emily was EXCELLENT, well mannered and a joy to be around. The atmosphere was great with some low key live music. The manager came over to check on us which is rare these days … I know everyone has different experiences at places but our night out was great! Give this place a shot .
Everything sounded great had a hard time deciding. The Rosa espina and the Organic Margarita was fresh and delicious made with fresh juice. We choose the Mariscos Fritos to start ..yum and the Carne Asda Tacos and Pork Belly tacos incredible and hearty we could not finish and had to take. Had to try dessert and we preferred the Churro Bread Pudding and the Tierra Y Fuego great
Can’t wait to go back
I love the many inviting seating options!! Each one offers a different experience. The food is fresh and exquisite. I had the mushroom tacos but I can’t wait to go back to try something new. I enjoyed the friendly, but professional service from everyone, including the hostess, waitress, bus boy and manager!
My wife and I had a wonderful meal. Jonathan/JayLo was a great waiter with good suggestions and service.
Edit: I had left a glowing review a few months ago. Had multiple great experiences last year. Came back tonight, was super excited for the food, however unbeknownst to us the menu has completely changed. It is significantly smaller in options, with multiple savory dishes now no longer available. The lobster tacos are gone. I asked if the chef could possibly still make them and they said no. The only lobster dish now offered is $80…who is getting that?? The drinks we ordered weren’t good, the appetizers were very lackluster, and my chicken tacos? I could’ve made them at home. The bread pudding for dessert wasn’t even pudding…the old dessert choices were gone. Again, I was sad to see. I was extremely disappointed overall at the meal, which we spent $170 on (not including tip) for 2 people. The service was fine, the atmosphere the same, but the new menu is severely lacking. I hate to say this but we will not be back.
The first time we went, this place was awesome. We sat in the main room and the food and service were great. Unfortunately, the next two experiences were lacking. We were out celebrating a family event and asked to be in the more than available dining area. Instead they seated us by the bar and said they couldn’t fit us in the dining room. The meat in the tacos was dried out and just not good. For 3 small tacos you will pay between $26-35 and they come with no chips and salsa or other sides at all. Ridiculously overpriced. The waiter was completely inattentive even though the place was fairly empty. He was hanging out at the bar chugging alcohol at one point. I’m sad to say that we likely won’t be back anytime soon.
I’ve never posted a restaurant review before, but my waitress asked me to leave one so here I am. My girlfriend and I came to Mexiquila back in December 2024 off her recommendation and it was great. The drinks, food, service, etc. was all up to par, 4.5/5. We were beyond excited to come back, but it turned out to be very disappointing. *Disclaimer - I’m a very easy-going patron*
From the start, we had a reservation for 6pm and the hostess seated us at a high top bar table where the overhead light was practically touching my head - I asked for us to be moved. The drinks might as well have been non-alcoholic. Our entrees arrived when we were not even halfway done our appetizer. Our waitress forgot our sides until the end of our meal and we didn’t receive them. They apparently just got a new head chef, but my shrimp tacos had no flavor and had just three shrimp each in them. My girlfriend got the branzino, and that was the highlight of the night, along with the music they played in the bar area.
Overall, we won’t be coming back to Mexiquila anytime soon. Hope they’re able to work out some of these kinks and return back to the way I first remembered them.
Such a delicious Margarita, I think I was smacking my lips at the fantastical taste! I asked for raw sugar, rather than salt, that was decoratively and whimsically placed on the very pretty glass and I was wow'd! Both times! :) Don't miss the Requesón Toast or the Elote Frito!

Last summer this was my favorite place I’d go every week but they got a new chef and changed the menu. Seriously miss all the amazing food from the old menu. The food was still good and the atmosphere great, but I won’t be back as often as I was last summer:( hoping they make some more additions. And bring back the chicken tinga bowl and dip trio flight.
Loved coming here last year but this year we came and they completely changed the menu but not for the better. Before they had many options, something for everyone and now their whole menu lives on two pages with limited options. All of my favorite things like their street corn guac and birria tacos are gone. I was with a larger party and we all struggled to find something we found appetizing so we ended up leaving before even placing an order. I would beware if you are looking for the same experience as year prior and if there are any slightly picky eaters in your party.
Fabulous food, ambience and service! Vibrant menu that takes regular dishes to a whole different level. Definitely a step up from all the local bars and restaurants. I appreciate quality food and service.
What a great place! The Organic house Margarita is easily one of the best margs around. Nice to see fresh ingredients being used and the taste is perfect. Really enjoyed the service and staff and desserts. Although we had an issue with one of our dishes it wasbeasiky resolved and we will be back when we come visit again. Thank you for the awesome time!
Went for Tapas Hour, host said no Tapas Hour, but there was. Didnt get anything on Tapas menu. My mich ultra 6.00. Carne Tacos soooooo chewy, had to literally rip apart with teeth. Dip flight 20 something, needed more chips, 5.00 more. 90.00 with tip for 4 beers over priced chips and 3 tacos. Very disappointing.
