My family and I came here to grab some pre-dinner drinks for my dad's 65th birthday. We had an awful start to the night thanks to this place.Firstly, there was only one waitress and although it was not crowded upstairs, it took forever to just get some service. When we finally ordered our drinks and water, it took 15/20 minutes just to get some warm water. They said a glass broke in their ice machine and they will get some ice soon - but we never got it.The thing which made this night the worse was that outside of the bathroom they had a coat cart right next to the door. Therefore, when my father came out of the bathroom, he banged into the cart which was right outside of the door and fell on the floor. He had just recovered from a serious back injury and we were absolutely terrified. Thank god, he didn't hit his head or anything but left with a limp and a bruised knee. And to top it off, the bartender/ staff there were unapologetic and said, "well someone must have moved it". That is not our problem. NO idea why in such a small cramped space they have something that big anyway. Also - the waitress had asked for my credit card in advance when she took our order which we found really odd as well.Anyway, even after the fall, we decided to at least have that drink we had been now waiting about 40 minutes for...to only find out they had not even started making it yet. No idea what the bartender was doing except just standing there and being rude.We cancelled the order - and thankfully we weren't charged. Wasted our time here. Will never come back again. Disgusting attitude, no accountability, and eligible for a lawsuit if someone else take's the fall due to their negligence.

the vibes were simply immaculate. The drinks were really cool and tasty, bartender super friendly, and great atmosphere all around. Not sure how hidden it is but definitely a gem in Somerville!

Great atmosphere and beautiful decor. Very peaky blinders type sitch. They make very good drinks and have a great selection of cocktails to choose from.

Verve was hitting on all cylinders last night as we dined with friends. We were seated promptly. Cocktails were well made but did take too long to order and get to the table- something we were willing to overlook once food started arriving. All of our apps were super- chicken buns, pork belly, oysters and calamari’s shared amongst the 5 of us. Everyone raved about their entrees , steaks, lamb and salmon flavorful and perfectly cooked. Desserts were good but could have taken some more effort. Service was competent and professional but wasn’t perfect. All in all a great evening, expensive but good price to value and not out of line with local prices

I like this bar a lot because it's close to where I live. Very friendly staff, clean bathrooms and good happy hour specials. 5 jumbo wings for 5 bucks. They were pretty good too. And DJ Moist absolutely kills it on Friday nights with the old school hip hop and rnb. And best of all, it's right near one of the best taco trucks in ktown. Thank you for the good times, 1933 Room.

We were there on Valentine’s Day for dinner . The service was very good , good food but questionable social distancing . May go back in post Covid times ... just to give it another try

White tablecloth dining with great food and service. The bar scene is the tops with bartenders who are skilled minologists. The bar menu is excellent. The owner is the most comunity minded restaurateur in town, always giving back and helping causes. This is a place to spend your money with good conscience while enjoying a great meal.

Verve never disappoints! We had another outstanding meal. From start to finish we were very happy. We started in the swanky bar with awesome drinks and the guys enjoyed their draft beer so much they looked it up online (brewery from Cooperstown, NY) to be sure to find it again to buy for home. Our meal was great. Steamed littleneck clams, 3-cheese French onion soup, roasted mushroom soup all fantastic! The entrees just as great. The steak au poive was outstanding, we also enjoyed two of the specials, elk and black cod and both fantastic. Two vegetarians with us loved the cauliflower steak. Can't say enough about how good all of the food was. The atmosphere is great, too. Definitely a nice late-night place but just as comfortable if you decide last minute to stop in for dinner. It's a very inviting and friendly place!

The restaurant is located in the busy downtown Somerville area. It is an extremely happening place that gets very busy and a little loud. The ambience is a delight. The salads are very sizable and an excellent appetizer portion you can share. Overall the food was good but not something I would crave coming back to for the prices which are substantial. Our server was a bit slow however his bus person was excellent and constantly on the move. I had the New York strip steak which was a bit under seasoned but cooked absolutely perfectly. My companions were having salmon and short ribs and everyone enjoyed their meal quite a bit. The downside again is the cost of the food which is not easy to justify a return trip-a $325 bill ( for 4) must have me leaving being overjoyed with my experience. I would rate the restaurant 3 1/2 to 3 and three-quarter stars and although I feel that I would not rush back to it, they were plenty busy in the bar area was completely full so people are enjoying it!

Special occasion to catch up with old friends, reviews seemed good, first experience at this place was a total disappointment ! In order of the evening: Cocktails: Ordered and delivered on time ..good! Appetizers: Poached pear salad no dressing dry.. Coquilles "Saint Jacques" the only thing that was hot was the sea scallop it was served in... When we ordered a bottle of the "only" Pinot Noir, Wes Mar '14, Russian River $70.00 for the table we were told that they were out of stock ugh !! Two of the table ordered the Braised Elk Osso Buco $35.00 it was dry, flavorless and cold. The Lobster special which one of the diners ordered was full of cartilage and inedible, the house did remove that from the check. Overall our server John was good, but he was overwhelmed with the number of tables that he was servicing and we needed to pull from other wait staff to get some attention. This place falls far short from a "French Bistro Fare Restaurant" and we will not be back anytime soon... Very frustrated customer !!!
