I visit this coffee shop every day with my baby girl, and it's become so much more than just a place to grab a latte—it's where memories are being made.

From the moment you walk in, there's a real sense of community. The owners are incredibly warm and treat everyone like family. Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, you're welcomed with genuine smiles and kindness. The staff are equally wonderful—always attentive, friendly, and quick to remember your usual order or ask how your day is going.

Now for the coffee—it’s truly exceptional. The lattes are consistently amazing, and they’ve got some standouts you have to try: the pistachio latte is smooth and comforting, and the lotus cheesecake latte is pure indulgence in a cup.

The food deserves its own praise. Everything is fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend the pesto panini and the tzatziki toast—both are delicious and beautifully put together.

This coffee shop has become a cherished part of my daily routine, and I feel so lucky to share these moments here with my little one. It’s a special place where great coffee meets even better people.

Service was good but the eclairs were extraordinarily stale—a total waste of money.

I love how I found this place after asking around for local, independent cozy coffee places. I was recommended this place and so glad I don't live too far because it has become my favorite coffee hang out place now! everything is adorable from decor, service and variety of GOOD coffee to food.

Would like an explanation about this $7 DEFAULT tip for this?

How many other customers is this being added to without their knowledge?

Update: It is good to know that there is no default tip option.
But if I did not enter it, and if you did not enter it - yes, the explanation is simple. Your employee is skimming from customers - and probably you too. I wish you well

Had the chagachino it was very good 😊

It’s so telling that every negative review of this place is met with arguments from the owner instead of accountability and respect. Not to mention how hypocritical it is to ask customers to “show their humanity” when it was YOUR staff instigating many of these issues in the first place. You are charging people almost $30 for mid coffee and unseasoned food just to yell at them. Please look inward.

i hate to criticize local businesses or their staff, but one staff member was so rude to me it ruined my experience. we sat outside and my friend went in to grab our meals, and when the employee asked for her name, my friend said all 3 of our names and said she’d grab all our meals. the employee handed her 2 meals and said the 3rd (my friend’s pancakes) would come out soon. my meal looked slightly different from what i ordered but similar enough, so i assumed either the staff misheard me or i misunderstood what my meal came with, but i just ate what i was given so as to not disturb anyone since it was busy. then she came out with my friend’s pancakes and my actual meal, and i explained we might’ve accidentally been served the wrong one before, and she was taken aback and acted like this was the first time there was ever a mixup at a restaurant. she said “well you ordered a protein bowl and that’s clearly not a protein bowl” and i said “yes i can see that now” and i offered to pay for the other meal as well. she said, very condescending, “i would suggest not grabbing someone else’s order next time because now someone doesn’t have their food” as if i was intentionally stealing someone else’s food. when i offered again to pay as she was walking away with the half eaten food to throw out, she just waved me off. i understand there was a miscommunication, but being rude to customers who are offering to pay for a mistake on top of the $28 they already paid for breakfast is not a good look. if they weren’t gonna have me pay for it anyway, all they had to do was smile, apologize, and maybe not make their customers feel bad over mistakes that happen at restaurants every day.

edit: yes i’m writing this review to feel important, you got me there! i hope this review gets me on ellen! be for real. i’m just letting you know that if you treat customers rudely, they have every right to share it. every interaction with a customer is an opportunity for them to make a review, and that’s what a review is: a review of their experience in that instance. you’re asking me to be more human, but maybe you should by swallowing your pride and apologizing for objectively rude behavior. it would’ve taken two seconds to apologize in your response, and maybe i would’ve even deleted my review, but your response proves my point. if i read a negative review to a restaurant, i may assume there are a lot of crazy people out there and ignore it. but if i read numerous rude responses from the owner, that says something to me. i wish i read your responses to other reviews prior to coming in today because i would’ve saved myself the disrespect. you had multiple chances to retain a paying customer and lost them all with your ego. good luck yall

Bliss Coffee Lounge is easily the best coffee spot in Somerville in terms of drinks and food. I truly cannot praise them enough (Especially their breakfast menu!), and would give 5 stars for both aspects.

So why 2 stars? Simply put, the owner's behavior.

As a regular who has lived my whole life 15 minutes away from Bliss and visited close to a hundred times over the years, I have noticed the owner's aggressiveness and generally unprofessional behavior in the shop increase over time.

They often will engage in loud aggressive phone calls inside and in front of the store in front of all the customers with frequent expletive language. I understand running a business and the chalanges of daily life are very stressful, but we customers should not be seeing this. Especially in a relaxing coffee shop.

Even worse, treatment of their staff is extremely aggressive, with arguments erupting several times. Almost every time I have visited, I have had nothing but polite and diligently working staff interacting with me, so this behavior is especially unjustified from the owner.

All I can give credit for is that I have never seen this behavior taken out on a customer directly. However this does not excuse any of what I have detailed above.

Ultimately, this behavior will harm my continued patronage, and likely many other regulars and potential customers. I truly do not want to be rude and discount everything Bliss does so well, because they truly are a gem in Somerville. But since this problem continues to go unchallenged and unresolved, I feel the shop that I love is suffering because of it.

Edit: A thank you to the owner for the reply and willingness to listen to criticism, much appreciated.

I met childhood friends here as a meeting point and it was beyond perfect! A cozy setting to catch up with friends. The food was great! But the coffeecino (I think that’s what it was called) was so delightful I ordered a second to go- just to have again! I look forward to going back’

Came by on a Sunday early afternoon and it was packed! Staff was extremely attentive and took the time to show care for every order. Loved my churro latte and my order was served on a cute wooden board. Check them out!!
