This is one of my top 5 restaurants in New Jersey! I have eaten here at least 30 times. They hit it right EVERY time; service is efficient and friendly, the plate ware and glasses sparkle, bathrooms are clean and artsy… most of all the food is CONSISTENTLY good! Pad Thai, seared tuna, chicken sate is delicious, ice cream trio perfect for a special birthday (I have spent MANY February birthdays at Origins!)…on and on!!! Recently, we asked if we could bring my daughter’s (well behaved!) dog and sit outside- we were greeted with the same hospitality as we normally do when dining inside. Applause to your Chef and wonderful staff!

I’ve been coming to Origin in Somerville for over 35 years. It used to be excellent as far as food and service. They had a great staff. Things began to change about 7-8 years ago as far as the chef. In the last year I’ve been extremely disappointed both eating in and takeout. Today Was my last time. I ordered several takeout noodle dishes. Dry overcooked noodles. Chicken dry, shrimp tiny size (they used to use jumbo shrimp). The chef is terrible. There are many other Thai restaurants in the area now.

We were in this restaurant and service wasn’t good. We told waiter what we have food allergies for eggplant and pumpkin and they said okay. When we ordered food we found eggplant. My boyfriend was very mad because they said it’s no eggplant. By the end they wanted us to pay whole bill, what is wasn’t right. Our night was destroyed

A lot of exotic variety available. This restaurant has found its niche in blending well known plates like a Pad Thai, to lesser common plates like a bison steak into one seamless menu. We had a large selection of menu options this time. The Chicken Sate, the Corn Soup, Dumplings, Bison Steak, Pad Thai, Pad Gra Wa, Thai Iced Tea, and Thai Coffee. In summary these were all great plates. My overall favorite being the Pad Thai, great flavor, noodles had a great consistency, and a flavor profile that left me wanting more. The Bison would be the closest second offering a tender cut covered in a savory sauce.
Overall definitely coming here for whenever I’m in the mood for Thai.
Good Basic Thai Food, given limited choices in the neighborhood or county - Somerville has a good downtown and a bit of vibe. Pad Thai was very good

Very rude most of them. Sorry to be so negative but if you are going to have a nice looking palace and with decent food you better follow it up with great service.
