I walked past Pierre & Michel Authentic French Bakery last weekend, after I'd eaten, so I promised myself I'd return today. First, I love the shop. It friendly & inviting. Plenty of small round tables and a few comfy chairs and a couch. Very inviting. I sat across from a huge wall painting of Paris/Eiffel Tower on a misty day . I feel like I can walk into it and be instantly in Paris. Reminds me of the woody Allen movie. Everything looks amazing. I believe all the baking is done here because new pastry treats keep emerging from the back, filling the air with buttery sweet smells. I decided to test the French fare with a coffee and an apricot croissant . I took a seat, a few moments later, the server brought me my trial treat. One word: incroyable The croissant was (emphasize the word 'was') buttery soft & lite, several delicate slices of apricot and filled with a creamy vanilla? Pudding. It's gone. I devoured each bite and my mouth was pleased. The coffee is amazing (I don't know what brand) perfect with the heavenly croissant. I'll be back many times. I love the experience Pierre & Michel have crafted. I've decided I'm taking one of their fresh baked baguettes home with me for nibbling on all afternoon. Pierre & Michel Authentic French Bakery is a "must do" please come here. Let's make them a wild success. Somerville Main Street now has a few square feet of Paris J'adore cet endroit

My husband and I wanted some dessert after having dinner in the area and I found this French bakery. The cafe is spacious and there was plenty of seating. The staff were friendly and helpful. They offer a variety of drinks, sandwiches and pastries. We ordered espressos and I got the walnut brownie mousse. My pastry was very good! I will definitely be returning.

Great macaroons. Particularly the lemon and vanilla ones. Looking forward to trying some more of their desserts.

They have so many pastries and desserts that I love! Also they make breakfast sandwiches with baguettes or brioche or croissants. There's tables available for you to enjoy yourself and drink coffee, lattes and tea. My only suggestion is to offer phone orders or online order.

I love that this place is called Authentic French bakery. Desserts are very pretty and are tasty; tried the raspberry, passion fruit, and chocolate cakes. Passion fruit and raspberry were phenomenal. Strawberry macaron (lol didn't autocorrect when I typed macron) was quite good and I enjoyed my lemon tart as well. Coffee was fine. A nice option to have in the area! Cafe staff were friendly and the layout is very open

The food is absolutely phenomenal. If you haven't had pastries from an authentic french restaurant I would 10/10 recommend it will change your life. The service was nice, although there seems to be a bit of a language barrier sometimes. The ambiance screams "luxury" with reasonable prices for their hand crafted bakery items. PS: Try the berry tarts, they're actually my favorite.

Very long overdue review! A bit of background, but if it's 4.5 I'll round it to 5 if I have spoken to the owners regarding their ideology and their approach. I had went quite a few months ago. They are becoming more of a chain due to their popularity as they now have four locations! Nonetheless, the owner was there for quite some time to provide assistance to make sure the store was on it's feet. More on that later! I went to their original location with a European Friend that had more experience on these. TLDR: (4.5/5) The store is gorgeous. There is a variety of seats to choose from and it offers a very spacious lounge area. Moreover a ton of sweets and savory options that have some of the best presentation you'll see in several towns over! The taste of them are very unique as you can imagine it's a bakery focused on Authentic French Baking. It can be a hit or miss depending on what you get. Almond Croissant though is an absolute killer. I never had anything like it and would recommend if you love a sweet almond dessert! This location is a sure visit at least once for locals and travelers that get to see decor, vibes, and baked goods you would to struggle to find even in New York! Food (4/5): The Almond Croissant is a MUST in my opinion if you love sweet goods. I never had anything like it and it's delicious. Almond explosion of flavor that just leaves you satisfied. The Creme Brulee is nice as they torch it right there. Big points because as my friend says, it's very hard to get it outside of a restaurant dessert menu. Pretty standard Creme Brulee The Croissant wasn't mind-blowing but it was a good one. Buttery with good flakiness. The Paris Brest is one of their more popular pastries apparently. I liked it a lot because I love cream. It was decadent. A little on the harder side to eat but it was great. I gave it 4/5 because often times the presentation is easy 5/5, but the taste doesn't match what you would expect. That can be a hit or a miss for some people. There is a lot of variety to go through so I'm sure there will an item you might love. Service (5/5) (Temporary Review): The service was fantastic! It became a bit busy towards the later end of the afternoon, but they were cordial and attentive. This section is a bit hard because the owner was there there. The owner is a lovely person to speak to if you ever have the chance or if there is down time in the store. Service could go either way after they leave to manage the other new location that is about to come out. So it is subject to change, however, if the owner is there then you are in good hands. Decor and Ambiance (4.5/5): The store on the outside is easy to miss, but once you step inside it is simply gorgeous. A minimalistic take with plenty of open space. The different seating options provide the customers with a myriad of ways to personalize their experience. It's unique and memorable. I only ever sat by the couch and it's comfy. The .5 reduction is because some people might prefer consistency or it could be too big. There is quite some distance from the door to the bakery itself. Drinks (Cannot Review): I didn't get any drinks at the time so I can't say much. Overall (4.5/5) One of the premier bakeries I have ever been to. It stands on it's own with the presentation and unique variety of pastries that are often times hard to find in one location. It's a must see if you are a local, traveler, or baking connoisseur. I speak for the sweets. They are fantastic but for the savory options and drinks. I will have to come back and try them myself. I have tried some other pastries at their other location. Please check out my review there! The recipe should be same. Worries: More stores means that it might be harder to check for quality and more streamlined efficiency could drop the quality. So far, it seems like it's done well though. Good luck on the new store!

My husband told me about this place and that they have very different kinds of desserts and I should try them. on the weekend we stopped by, me and my daughter were standing in the line and 2 ladies were helping with coffee and orders. First off, we stood for over 10 mins. there was a guy behind us who was regular I believe so one of the server said "Welcome back Paul". by the time it was our turn to take orders, the woman who was at the register started to make orders and warming up the food for people who were before us. Understandable. they are short-staffed. BUT not even eye contact, no hi hello, no saying, please give me a minute and I will be with you. She was very rude and arrogant. kept going back and forth right in front of us but no acknowledgement. She did say, Hi Paul to the guy behind. That's when I lost it and walked out with my daughter. Doesn't matter how good the pastries or cakes are, I can't take rude service. where they don't acknowledge people waiting in line or say I will be with you in a few mins, let me serve some food.

This French bakery is a great place to grab a pastry and coffee, right on Main Street. Food: We got an Apple tart and a chocolate walnut mousse brownie. Unfortunately, the Apple tart wasn't nearly as good as it looked. It lacked flavor, depth and sweetness. It was fairly bland. However, the chocolate walnut mousse brownie was absolutely delicious. It had a great combination of textures from the chewy brownie to the rich mousse to the crunch from the solidified chocolate on top. It was decadent, not overly sweet and perfectly chocolatey. Ambiance: this bakery is fairly new so it has a fresh interior with ample seating. This is a great place to sit down and enjoy a coffee and pastry. Service: the person at the counter was very nice and checked with a kitchen to see if they had more tarts coming out since there were none left. Overall, I would absolutely come back and try more of the pastries here!

Very good ham and cheese croissants and baguettes. The sandwich was very filling for breakfast. Nice and clean inside just a bit pricey.

Ok, actually just wanted to add this pics to my last review. I will just walk by and try another place when craving desert.

I usually get a tuna salad sandwich from Mike's Courtside (5star) but decided to try this one. If you like tomatoes (asked for no tomatoes) and pickles this is the sandwich for you. The tuna is thinner than a swipe of mayo. Very disappointing- I'll stick with Mike's thanks and I'll stay with Paris baguette for my pastries

A best bet for well prepared and mouthwatering sweets, French style. As a bonus they make the most tasty ham, cheese and butter baguette sandwich this side of Paris. Wash it down with a latte. Great place to chill and meet up with folks.

I purchased 2 almond croissants and they were fantastically great tasting. Very authentic! In passing by the display cases, I was enthralled by the number of offerings of delicious looking desserts. The bakery offers coffee drinks as well as lunch items. I will come back with my wife for brunch soon. The ambience was good with lovely French sounding music in the background.

I happened to be searching Yelp and found this place. It doesn't really stand out and can be easy to miss. (Their street number is 78.) I got both the Paris Brest and Metisse. Both were terrific. Can't wait to go back and try their other pastries. Note: there's a surcharge for using a credit card, so bring cash if you want to avoid it.
