We have been coming to Verve for Mother’s Day for almost 10 years. I’m sad to say we will not be returning back next year. We had an 11:30 reservation and were sat at that time and placed our order but we did not get our food until after 1:15. The waitress came over and apologized, but still we waited over an hour for our food with no offer for another bread basket or something for our young kids who were hungry. It did come with a complementary champagne for Moms, but they stopped offering complementary Bloody Marys and no rose or carnation as in the past. When we ordered our food, my daughter asked for the French toast with no whipped cream and the waitress said "sorry we can’t take any special requests." Just to ask for No whipped cream?! So she was forced to have the whipped cream on her French toast. In the meantime, as we waited OVER 90 MINUTES for our food , nobody offered us an extra bread basket or any kind of complementary drink for the trouble. The most disappointing part was that we had a few glasses of wine and champagne and they were charged at $20 per glass! This is absurd. It has never cost that much before. We were a family of four and spent over $340 and still didn’t eat for two hours after we arrived. Very disappointing! We’ve always loved your food and service but this year it’s definitely gone downhill. We are locals and always enjoyed Mother's Day at Verve but the cost and wait this year was astronomical and unfortunately we will not return.

Cozy, relaxing atmosphere inside this two-level restaurant that blends Manhattan vibes with small-town charm. The food lived up to the hype - our favorites were the pork belly appetizer, NY steak, lobster pasta, and soup. We also enjoyed the charcuterie board, which offered a nice selection. Although the staff was polite, the service was notably slow, with long waits between courses. Overall, it's a bit pricey, but the amazing food makes it worth it.

Been coming here with friends for a couple weeks now and have been loving the ambiance and atmosphere. Tried the upstairs 1933 room last night and had an incredible experience! Drinks and bartenders there are phenomenal and the food is great too. Will definitely be making this our new spot!

We didn’t get food. The kitchen closed by the time we got there. Place was pretty packed and a mouse ran across the floor multiple times. Immediately got the check and left. Staff was extremely friendly and nice but absolutely would NOT go back.

Have been to Verve several times throughout the years. They don’t need another great review, but I know it helps and hopefully makes a difference and helps others. Service is always great. Enjoyed their oysters, which were from Canada. Reminded me of my favorite oysters from Boston. Always a great, relaxed time at Verve.

I brought my family here yesterday to celebrate Mother's Day on behalf of my mom. It took us almost thirty minutes at our table to get an acknowledgement. We were required to wait for a good twenty minutes even after placing our beverage order. We received very little attention, and as the dining experience was coming an end, my sister and mother were inadvertently splattered with water by one of the waiters who was cleaning the table. He did not even apologize or offer additional cloths so they could dry themselves. My father and I both requested that the pan-seared chicken breast not include any Brussels sprouts, but the dish still had them. Since I was paying I didn't want to voice my dissatisfaction with the situation in front of my mother who was already unhappy, I felt really let down. The fact that they tacked a $56 gratuity on top of the poor service made me even more angry. We paid about $400 for our bill, and I will not be taking my family here again. We were the only Latino family there, so who knows whether that's why we weren't treated the same as the other tables but we were paying customers and should’ve been treated better especially since it was Mother’s Day.

We called to book a reservation for Mother’s Day for outdoor seating since we had a dog tagging along. I made sure to ask if we would be able to, since it was going to rain early that day and the hostess said we would and she had put us down for the time requested. When we showed up, we were told that not only did we not have a name down, but the outside wasn’t ready for dining due to the rain earlier. Things did not start out well, but the hostess was accommodating and polite, which helped turn things around. The food was wonderful, the small plates were incredible and the drinks were well made. But the real star of the show was the bartender Lay, who had to be our impromptu server since we were being accommodated. As we were waiting outside, we saw Lay step out to go out of his way to be kind to a parent and his child and give them fries. When we went in to order, he was very attentive with our large order and even accommodated us with an off-menu drink order. He was exceptionally kind and was witty and made us laugh. He checked up on us even though we were instructed to seek him out for service. Our orders came out correct and he made sure we were all done with our small plates before getting the entrees started, so that we weren’t overwhelmed with food. Lay and team turned what would have been a disappointing experience into a great one. Also highly recommend the duck buns/gnocchi/pork belly/dumpling plates. The drinks were all killer, Lay is a rockstar

Excellent service can not make up for serial errors in the kitchen. The food was extremely disappointing for a restaurant at this price point. We started off with the fried calamari which was so overcooked that it was literally hard to chew, like rubber gaskets inside hardened paste. The waiter apologized and took it off the bill. The main dish, Duck a l'orange was perfectly cooked (doneness), but there wasn't even the slightest hint of orange that I could discern. The waiter saw the plating and said "oh, I see what they did. I'll bring you out a side vegetable". I am unsure to what he was referring but he came back with a lightly sauteed dish of fresh spinach, which I was excited to see, but it was so over-peppered (black and/or cayenne) that it was almost inedible. Finally, we got the chocolate ganache cake for desert and there was absolutely no ganache in sight. It was a chocolate sponge muffin, maybe an overcooked lava cake attempt, the consistency and taste of Drakes Devil Dog cake, warm. I expected the decadent experience of chocolate ganache, and was very disappointed. My wife, on the other hand, liked it for it's "lightness". But, that's not ganache. That all said, the warm bread served was some of the best I've ever had in a restaurant (phenomenal crust, airy center), and the dipping oil was also. The cocktails were also spot on. The service was flawless. All-in-all, this is now on my list of been-there-done-that, don't need to again.
