Small intimate place. The food was great. We shared a Meatball sub. I went to the ladies room and he started without me. Told me that he was too hungry to wait. I took a bite and totally understood. The shaved the best cheese I've had since Italy. The price is right.
We happened upon Vinnies II on a warm Friday night when Somerville was having an antique car show. Business was slow because if that, only 2 take out orders from regulars while we dined there. The owner (maybe Vinnie) was very welcoming, friendly. We both had eggplant rollatinis that he made by hand for us. There were 4 in each serving. They were large and delicious, great sauce. Hidden in plain sight for 19 years. Marcello (owner) bought the business from Vinnie last century and has been baking Pizza and Pastas for the neighborhood ever since. He has a few tables but most of his Italian-Styled food is to take out or is delivered. Good value and friendly service.
