We are a group of 6 people from Montreal and we were incredibly impressed by the warmth and kindness that Teddy and his staff served us with. Food was yummy! Definitely recommend!

Review of Foodies Diner
⭐️⭐️ (2/5)

I recently had the opportunity to try Foodies Diner in South Hackensack, NJ, for breakfast, and unfortunately, it was a letdown. I had heard positive things about this place, so I was excited to give it a shot, especially since I rarely eat out for breakfast on a weekday.

The ambiance was quiet and relaxed, which was nice, and the menu offered a decent variety of breakfast and lunch options. However, I found the prices to be a bit higher than expected for a diner, yet I was willing to overlook that. I ordered the Alpine omelette, which was priced at $16.25. I requested a simple change—no onions and a switch from Swiss to cheddar cheese. The waitress assured me it was “not a problem.”

Fast forward to when the food arrived: it was satisfactory, though nothing extraordinary. The real issue arose when I received the check. To my surprise, there was a surcharge for the cheddar cheese substitution. When I inquired, the waitress explained that it was a $1.00 upcharge. I was taken aback, as I felt that such charges should be communicated beforehand.

When I asked to speak with a manager about the lack of transparency, I was told that no one was available because the manager was out shopping. Additionally, I noticed a 3% charge for credit card payments, which wasn’t posted anywhere. It felt like a series of frustrating little surprises that left a bad taste in my mouth.

The overall experience was marred by the waitress’s dismissive attitude and the lack of clarity regarding pricing. I won’t be returning to Foodies Diner and will be sure to share this experience with my friends and followers. It’s disappointing to see such poor customer service practices, especially when customers are left unaware of additional charges.

Service was quick and easy, I didn’t feel rushed either. Staff was very friendly. Coffee was hot, and the food was good. We got the NYC omelette and eggs benny, with a waffle to split.

Food was horrible. If you are sitting near the register you can smell the bathroom yuck. Not sure of the cleanliness of this place. We ordered an omelette it was on the menu as mushroom and pepper omelette the server charged me for the mushrooms and the peppers $2.25 extra each,it came with homefries which tasted like they were frozen previously. My fiance ordered eggs which they didn't melt the cheese it was laid on top of the eggs, home fries and a waffle the waffle was cold so we had to send it back. The bill was $54.00 they have a surcharge of 3%. Don't waste your time the food has no taste and the smell of the bathroom makes you nauseous. Try another diner

Our lovely waitress was a gem, nicest person you could have taking your order. The place is small but we had no trouble getting a table on Sunday lunch time. The food wasn't bad, but really nothing special or memorable. We got 4 different omelettes with home fries and toast, pancakes and french toast. French toast would be the only thing we'd order again. There's parking in the back but you can really smell the jet exhaust from the airport that's basically next door. The placemats have lots of kids activities on the back so that kept them busy. Oh and table seemed short, none of us are super tall and I'm just 5'4 but we kept bumping legs with each other under the table.

Kid-friendliness: Their placemats had kid activities on the back and they have a kids menu.

Ripoff. Breakfast should not cost $42.17 for two people.
Wife got short stack pancakes and Turkey bacon, pancakes were $5.95 Turkey bacon $7.95 WHAT!
They charged me an extra $2.00 for turkey bacon even though I got French Toast deluxe. Doesn't meat come with the meal? Ripoff.

The waitresses were touching the food with there hands and transferring onto other plates. Also, watching your waitress walk in and out of the bathroom and then touch your food is not very appealing. The food took so long to come out we decided to take it to go.
