This place used to be exceptional when it was Backyard BBQ. The bbq chicken is good, however they ruined my last order of pork ribs… they looked like they were cooking for 3 days… order the chicken, but don’t trust the ribs anymore
First time ordering, they forgot my chicken. I ordered Mozzarella sticks and French fries but since not being vented they were saugie. The rice is bland and not good. Salad was ok at best just had a lemon squeezed on it.

Thought I was ordering from Backyard BBQ, not until I got there did I find out NEW management. Prices had increased but I didn't mind until I got home the food was bland, no seasoning or very little. A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. I passed PAULIE on PLAINFIELD Ave, because Backyard BBQ was cheaper and very tasty, I loved the veggies but these tonight taste like they were steamed with no seasoning. No Spanish seasoning at all
You need to get another cook if you want to stay in business.

The food is fantastic, but keep in mind that the half rack of beef ribs is 2 ribs and the whole rack is 3 and not 4 ribs. I don't really understand how half is 2 and whole is 3 but the food it still great.

Bring 2 ppl because it's a lot of food. I paid under 40 bucks for the steak and shrimp platter and it was enough for lunch and dinner. I didn't expect that much food and for it to be that delicious. The food came out in a tray with a mountain of rice, another of homemade fries, huge shrimps and a pretty big steak. Loved every bite

I tried this place out since it's local to me and I figured it's a new spot so why not. I ordered my usual I would get at a Portuguese spot..half beef ribs w/ rice & fries. When I got my order it was a good portion and smelled decent. However after taking the first bite it was an immediate no. The rice was hard and not boiled to that soft fluffy texture I'm used to at other Portuguese spots and on top of that it was salty. Now for the ribs it was an absolute no for me. These beef ribs had so much fat on them and had NO TASTE to it at all. I literally took one bite and had to spit it out and threw the whole thing in the garbage..it made me sick to my stomach to see how much fat was on it. Not sure how someone could feed that to people. You can tell their meat quality their using is not good at all. I'm so disappointed I spent almost $19 for food i expected to be as good as the other spots. Please read the reviews before you order..I thought what could go wrong. But no..alot can go wrong unfortunately. Don't think I'd ever come back here after this experience
Order chicken rice and fries . The portion of the order can feed a family of 3 . At most 4 . Good portion when it comes to the chicken option. The only reason I marked it 3 stars was due to the rice . It was salty . Will I give them another shot for sure . But I’m hoping they get it down 👍🏼

I had the unfortunate experience of trying Elmora BBQ 2 for the first time, and I have to say, it was a major disappointment. Upon placing my order, I asked for just 1 more ounce of BBQ sauce, a small request, and the employee told me there was no more sauce available and outright refused to give it to me. I even offered to pay for the additional sauce, but he still declined. I thought this was a misunderstanding, so I asked for a second hot sauce, only to be refused once again. As a first-time customer, I found this response to be incredibly rude and unprofessional. I’m not sure if they assume customers in South Plainfield are the same as in Elizabeth, but that’s not the case here.
Beyond the poor service, the food was also lackluster. The rice was bland with no seasoning, the fries tasted like frozen ones that were cold inside, and the meat wasn’t prepared as I had requested. I asked for well-done, but it came out far from that, and it lacked any real char or BBQ flavor. It’s clear that Elmora BBQ 2 is trying to compete with our local spots, but frankly, it doesn’t even come close.
The only reason I ordered from here is because Paulo's is closed on Mondays, but I regret not reading the honest reviews before making my choice. I even called Danny at the Elizabeth location to explain my experience and to express how disheartening it is for someone in the South Plainfield community to receive such poor service over something as small as a 1-ounce BBQ sauce. I will not be returning.

New management update: I ordered a whole bbq chicken with rice and fries. The rice was very salty and fries were soggy. Chicken tasted good!
I ordered take out a few weeks ago. The food seemed like it was already prepared and sitting in a warmer because the fries were not fresh
