Besides the juicy meats the Mac and cheese and cornbread are amazing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If you haven’t tried boss hog visit the store. You won’t be disappointed!

This barbecue restaurant exceeded all my expectations. Owner Mark provided outstanding service, calling each of us by name and welcoming us like family, even though it was our first visit. The food arrived quickly, and the generous portions for the price were just the beginning. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and I especially loved the ribs, pulled pork, baked beans, and green beans. Mark recommended we try the turkey, and I’m so glad I did— it was hands down the best turkey I’ve ever tasted. I can’t wait to come back!

The BEST barbecue in the state, hands-down. No contest. Wonderful people. The co-owner, Mark, was so nice and kept giving us samples to try. Very welcoming atmosphere with even nicer customers. Peter, a regular, was very outgoing and all of the staff were beyond friendly and helpful. THE BEST!! Delicious ribs, brisket, pulled chicken, pulled pork. We tried everything. You can’t go wrong. Feels like you’re at home.

This spot is okay. Not a spot I would crave to come back & eat at. Was a little disappointed with the sauce choice. Give it a try for yourself!

Solid BBQ. Brisket was about 30-45 minutes overcooked, and didn’t have much salt & pepper (was still enjoyable bc it’s a great cut of meat) pulled pork was a little dry but tasted good, ribs were fire! Super tender. Pastrami was great as well!

When the food is fresh, it's actually good. Been here a few times, my last time here I ordered some of this and that, everything was fresh except they served me some brisket from I guess the day before. It was cold and like chewing on the sole of a shoe. I'm not coming back. You might have better luck.

I got all the meats ribs ,chicken,sausages, and brisket I paid 63 dollars and instantly regretted all the meat was dry&salty the chicken was too big the meat is not smoked it's a lie more like liquid smoke and thrown in oven would never go here again sorry but the service is great and atmosphere amazing 🙂

Came here for a birthday lunch with my wife. Ordered 2 pulled porks, 2 corn breads, and 2 mac and cheese sides. Got 1 corn bread, and 1 mac and cheese (literally the only 2 patrons in the store at the time). I wasn't seemingly billed for the missing sides, so it could have been a simple mistake. Mac and Cheese was good, cornbread was good, meat was SALTY- like no flavor of pork, just seasoning of salt. BBQ sauce (Boss Sauce?) was okay, not overly sweet. Pork was cold-luke warm at best, bread was good. Workers paced the counter until 1 took a smoke break while the other continued to pace. First and last time for me, no attention to customers- no asking how to improve the food when we obviously did not finish.

Boss Hog has the best BBQ around. There isn't any comparison. We eat there a lot!!

Kid-friendliness: Staff is always right on top of friendliness and service. Excellent place to eat. I highly recommend this establishment and tell everyone I know about Boss Hog BBQ!!

Our family enjoyed our first experience at Boss Hog. We like the briskets and ribs the most. Corn bread is tasty too. We'll come back when we are in the neighborhood.

Great spot, one of my favorite places to get lunch in South Plainfield. If you’re looking for affordable quality food this is the spot. Always welcomed by staff and always taken care of!! Fantastic customer service. 10/10 atmosphere, also very clean. I highly recommend checking them out.

The BBQ here is amazing! We had them cater our son’s 1st birthday and everyone raved about the food. Having them cook it on site made the experience that much better, they set up and packed up the food. I can’t recommend them enough. We’ll be using them again for sure!
