I grew up not far from this establishment- it’s been my go to since childhood; even after they changed owners several years ago now, my family and I have continued to get pizzas & subs despite the change in the quality of the food. However, the food and service has continued to go downhill. Today we purchased a sub. I was very specific with what I wanted on the sub…they added things I didn’t request and didn’t add oil and vinegar which I specifically requested. The sub was so dry- the meat also didn't taste the same. Very poor quality. Overall, it was just plain bad. This is not the first time. Also, upon reading the reviews, it seems the owner (or whoever is responding) is only replying to complaints- and the responses are very unprofessional. For an establishment that has been a staple in the community, this is sad to see. I hope they step it up. For anyone who remembers the old Rodolfo’s, if you miss the taste and quality, about 5-9 mins away head to Otto’s Pizza in Piscataway (plainfield border). Polite, friendly service and quality food! Tony’s Pizza, also in South Plainfield in the Shop Rite complex is another great option!

Dine in or takeout has always been great. They treat our family well and make delicious Italian classics. This is our go to pizza place and who we call when we have no idea what to make for dinner 🤣

I called to place an order for a pie but was 40 minutes away.

When I initially called I needed to confirm the location and was somehow “disconnected”. I should have stopped the order there, but I needed to pick up something quick en route as to not be late to my final destination. I called back and told whoever I spoke to on the phone that I would be arriving in 40 minutes.

40 minutes later I arrive to pick up my order and “someone picked up my pie”. HOW?! The restaurant was dead and empty, and someone with MY name placed the EXACT same order? BS, but I needed to pick up dinner, so I paid and waited for another pie to be made and promptly left so I could make it to my final stop. When I arrived and presented dinner we were met with a sloppy half -ass pie. And I know it came right out the oven, but in addition to the cheese sliding off, the pie wasn’t even cut correctly.

I will never support this restaurant again. No further explanation. No redemption.

Will continue to eat here everytime I am in the area. The perogis are amazing, the Pizza's are so flavorful, and the salad with chicken was delicious!! Staff was extremely friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. Please eat here if you are in the area. It really is so good!

I went here for the first time last week after finding this place has gluten free items and ordered the gluten free boneless wings as a walk in. Just now I called in for two orders of gluten free wings and was even asked what sauce I wanted on them mild buffalo etc and I said plain. She told me 15-20 minutes. When I arrived I was told there is no order and that they do not offer gluten free food at all. Clearly outside there is a whole gluten free menu and the staff was of no help and did not even care to find out about a gluten free menu that is clearly visible offering pasta, boneless WINGS, pizza, burger buns and wraps. Do better

Update in response:
In response to the not having gluten free menu since before Covid. It should be easy enough to take down the one hanging outside of the restaurant that promotes all of the items listed above and it wouldn’t be an issue. The picture posted was taken right after I was told there isn’t such a thing but it is still advertised.

I find it funny how the owner (or whoever is responding on here) claims they have not had gluten free items (specifically chicken) for YEARS. I went here a week ago and got boneless wings with no sauce and wondered why I felt sick the following days. The staff is also rude, and are all over the place if you inquire about what’s on the menu & they’re condescending. I will upload a picture of the menu they literally still have outside the restaurant- yet somehow “we haven’t done that in years.” It blatantly says gluten free boneless wings. So when I asked and was told yes & served the food last week- was your staff lying to me despite my emphasis on allergies? Doesn’t sound like good business practices. Do not trust this business one bit especially if you have food allergies or other illnesses that affect your dietary needs.

Edit since response from “owner”: it’s crazy how you cannot hold yourself accountable for the sheer fact the menu item described is POSTED OUTSIDE YOUR RESTAURANT. There’s two bad reviews because these were two separate occasions. Your responses are so unprofessional yet you think people who are onto your horrible business practices are in need of help. I did end up needing help because of your FALSE CLAIMS of having gluten free items that aren’t gluten free apparently and I ingested! Is this you willingly admitting you intentionally falsely advertise food products on your menu that contain gluten?

Look at the response from the owner of this restaurant to me because he got a one star. You will be getting more one stars coming your way from what the locals know about what your business is doing. When you make a mistake you should have accountability for your actions. You should try to correct those mistakes. When you’re putting people’s lives at risk with false advertising you should choose to be better. Your responses to consumers show people exactly what they need to know I don’t need to say anything more that what you’re already showing them.
