“I came upon this deli while driving thru the area. I was hungry and decided to stop and see what was available. To my surprise the menu was very inviting , the prep area is in full view. You get to see your food being prepared. Let me tell you I haven't seen a cleaner deli that was so clean you could eat off the floor. “Sol is one of those rare neighborhood restaurants that really brings a community together. Good food, excellent vibes, and wonderful care and service from the owners and staff is reflected in the many smiling faces I see here every morning, evening, and on the weekends when I pass by.

I finally got the chance to stop in for a proper meal (normally I grab a reasonably priced breakfast sandwich and a coffee here while I'm running for the bus) and I was delighted with my experience. The Sol Breakfast Platter hit the spot with a bold, hot cup of coffee! The music and general vibrancy of the room added to my pleasure of the experience. I look forward to coming back again with my wife in the near future to try out more of the delicious sounding items on the menu!

Parking: Free street parking on Livingston Ave or Stevens Street, but in a tight neighborhood

Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is very family friendly. I often see full families enjoying meals together.

For all those hard-to-find Magyar specialties and ingredients this is where you need to go. “This post is long overdue. however; over Easter my aunt in NJ sent me two large kielbasas to Illinois (since she knows how much I miss jersey food in general) but kielbasa was always an Easter staple in our house. For whatever reason Joe's had my wrong shipping address and couldn't get ahold of me bc my voicemail was full. One day I saw a post on their page and I liked it. they responded right away... "Lauren Carr call us!! we have your kielbasa and don't have your correct address." The food got sent back to them. The lady I spoke with was super sweet and said she would send us a brand new package. I highly recommend this business. And, the customer service that comes along with it. Thank you Joe's!!! “Mark, the owner of Madison Deli, brought this place back from the dead. It had gone through a number of owners, but it seemed no one could keep this place going until Mark took over. The food is great, and the service is phenomenal. Many years ago, this building was a deli with a soda fountain and grill. It had a long counter with stools. You could get a meal or a quick sandwich and a soda from the fountain. It was well known for its ice cream floats and shakes. My mom actually worked there back then, and I, as a child, spent a lot of time there. This place is still one of my favorite places to get breakfast sandwiches. Mark's staff makes great sandwiches and are very fast to serve.“

Their Deli selection is top tier! They have cheeses I’ve never even heard of before, lol they all looked so good!They have Walnut Creek pepperoni cheese for $5 a pound!!!!! What a STEAL!
