Tried ordering veg food and it was in fish sauce. When I said it's in fish sauce! Can you make it veg without fish, oyster sauce. And she said " are you kidding". Poor service and bad ambiance. Would not go again.

I've been a long time customer of River Thai, but I hadn't been there in a long time, and my last review was written 14 years ago (!!!) But I recently ordered take away from here on Sunday evening. It's located in downtown South River which is in the middle of a rebirth? I was able to get plenty of parking, and I was pretty amazed that my order of pad see ewe, Thai-ice tea was packaged and ready to go in less than 10 minutes! The workers are really nice here, and I always had good experiences dining here. They did have a sign that indicated that they are not offering dining due to staff shortages. I would call before going there to see if you can dine in. I'm glad I got to visit again. I'll have to (re) try more of their items before my next update!

Have the same thing everytime I come so my rating is specifically for The curry puffs alongside the Mussamun curry along with the experiences each time recieving it. They don't skip a beat, very yummy ingredients used, consistent, adorable, and great crew/very sweet people.

We ordered food from here based on the ratings on Yelp. Unfortunately the food we ordered did not have any taste at all, it was bland and watery. I am sorry to say it was a real disappointment.

I usually dont leave negative reviews. I usually use Yelp to identify restaurants and other establishments to support and this rating did not match the quality of the food we received. My family and I were throughly disappointed with the quality of the food. It was like i made it at home with all the confidence of knowing how to make Thai food but ultimately didn't know what I was doing and used the wrong seasoning or not enough of the right seasoning.. The family was looking forward to almost 5 star food (even as takeout) ... didnt come close. I hope it was an off day and glad to see so many have enjoyed their dining experience.

Horrible food. Tom yom soup reeked...we ordered Tom yom soup, chicken and beef in ginger garlic sauce, Penang curry with chicken and pad Thai. Only thing that was edible was Pad Thai. All other items we horrible... Worst Thai food experience ever...Got deceived by the high rating...
We showed up and didn’t realize how close to closing they were. Asked if we could eat in, and they said YES! I’m so glad they did. The food was awesome and the staff friendly. A must go to for Thai food. 10 STARS ⭐️

One of the best thai restaurants arround, with extremely friendly staff (family owned, I think). We used it times and times again, sometimes bringing out of towners (i.e. Utah). Everytime a good experience.

This is our go to Thai place in the area. Unfortunately the dining room isn't open anymore post Covid and the hours are sometimes difficult. But the food is consistently delicious and the service is good. Family run and caring owners.

My husband and I love trying various Thai restaurants when traveling. We chose this location while in NJ and It did not disappoint. The server was attentive. The food was flavorful and plenty. I look forgot dining here again when I return.
