We typically try other Asian options in the greater Sparta/Lafayette area, but last night decided to give Fu's a shot. We were not enamored, as the prices were a bit higher than the other Chinese restaurants we frequent. We did opt to go and pick up our takeout, and found the atmosphere attractive, appropriately lit, and looked clean. We got the General Tso's Chicken, which had a vastly inappropriate ratio of breading to chicken. I mean, way off to where you had to look inside to find the meat. It was served with undercooked broccoli in sauce that was fairly good. Since it was a combo meal and not a full separate entree, can't really speak to value to portion. Next up was scallion pancakes which were all dough and almost zero scallions....a texture and proportion disappointment. The pork lo main was overcooked to a degree, the noodles were "bland and boring" with uneventful texture and taste. The winner of the night were the fried dumplings - great texture and taste. I'd go back for those alone, but doubt I'd return based on cost and overall experience when compared to other great choices close by. Sorry there are no photos, I thought my dining partner snapped them and she thought same of me!!

My only issue was that they put my chicken wings in a container with the rice... you can't do that, chicken wings become soggy with moisture.

Tried this place for the first time and got the orange chicken and veggie fried rice. The rice was okay but the orange chicken was not very good, either burnt the sauce or way too much soy, tangy and not much orange flavor.

Vegie lo mein has no vegetables in it. It's pretty weak. Just brown noodles.Sushi is very very good. Wasabi is the strongest around and I value that.

I have traveled extensively in East Asia, and anyone who has, knows that Chinese and Japanese restaurants in the US are a particular interpretation of regional cuisines, adapted to American tastes. That said, I've eaten at Fu's many, many times over the last 8 years and found it consistently high quality. Vegetables fresh, everything hot and well packaged for takeout, fried items light, quality oils, sauces light and flavorful. Tonight we had steamed vegetables and shrimp, and salt and pepper squid, vegetables were crisp and fresh, squid simple and delicious. Egg rolls are superb. I write this because I don't get all these gratuitous one star reviews. Is it an issue with delivery services? In any case, this is an excellent, consistent restaurant.

For sure newtons shining star of a Chinese place, good atmosphere and service and great cuisine with good pricing.Vegetarian options: They have a decent variety, I would feel serviced and at home for if looking for vegetarian cuisines.

I was reading the review on Yelp, and I saw there were some bad reviews. However, I am just curious and I want to have some Chinese food and Japanese food at the same time. So I went to this restaurant, I ordered General Tso Chicken and a few sushi rolls. Surprisingly, the food was delicious and fresh. I will definitely come back again.

Food was completely disgusting. Veggies was uncooked and we had burnt fried rice. We chose this place because they deliver... now my tummy hurts.

Growing up in Sparta there was always a million different rumours about Fu’s. Now, I don’t know if any of them were true, but as a kid it was always fun to believe some of them. That being said, Fu’s isn’t amazing, but it’s also not terrible. It’s very middle of the road and not much else. I can’t say it’s a place I visit when I’m home, but driving by it reminds me of my childhood so there’s that.

This is in response to a one star review from six months ago. According to the information given in the picture, I believe that is the General Tso's Chicken. This dish includes dried peppers, and this thing in the picture is the skin of a DRIED PEPER. There are NO dead bugs. In addition, our restaurant will be inspected by the health bureau every year, and our restaurant will be cleaned up at the end of every day to keep it clean and tidy. Therefore, you don't have to worry about health problems. Lastly, if you want to try some Chinese food or other Asian food like sushi, Thai etc,. We all have in here! Thank you. :)
