This was our second visit and we're already looking forward to the next visit. Once again everything was wonderful, from the dinners to the great service.

Amazing food and service, but at a price. If you don't mind $60 entrees, Whispers provides a wonderful night out. Only minus; very dated decor. But the food is wonderful!

We've been dining here for years and this may have been our best dining experience. It was always expensive, more so now, however quality is reflected. They have added a "bread service". We sprang for the $15 loaf and were not disappointed. It was large, crusty with a soft center served with soft sun dried tomato butter and/or EVOO. The caesar salad was off the charts for not being made table side. Dressing was light and very zesty with crisp croutons. I could have made this my meal. Our entrees consisted of rack of lamb and pork chop special. Both were delicious. Only disappointment was the cherry gelato for $18 which was nothing special. Lily did a great job, and the support staff were attentive. The manager apologized for having a menu printed with the specials (usually the staff recites them). We preferred this as everything was spelled out with prices and we didn't have to ask the staff to repeat them. The restaurant is beautiful and one of the few in Monmouth County with this kind of ambience. Definitely a splurge however well worth it.

I have eaten many many times at Whispers over the years. Always a fabulous experience and meal. However last night for my birthday dinner my husband and I drove 1.5 hours as I wanted to dine at one of my favorites in Spring Lake. Our server Meredith was great. Food not so much. Bread appetizer was nice, scallop appetizer was so so and slightly warm. My center cut filet was not cooked as I requested and was very difficult to cut. My husband cut pieces off of the end that was to my liking but the center was raw and the entire filet and potatoes were cold as was the creamed spinach. The Demi glaze was tasty. My husbands tuna was cold as was the vegetable and the soba noodles were good but also cold. Like cold not even warm. Several other patrons were seated after us and got 3 courses so I'm assuming our dinners were sitting prior to serving . We are not ones to complain so figured dessert would make it not a total loss. We ordered the warm apple cobbler which was also cold and stale. So not the best birthday dinner for $300. I will try Whispers again as maybe this was an off night . But extremely disappointed and bummed .

Thanksgiving meal was mediocre. I was contacted twice to confirm the reservation, but never told BYOB. (Can't find anything on their website stating same) Mushroom ravioli and corn soup were delish, stuffing and pumpkin pie were bland. Veggies were fresh and cooked well. Bench seating cushions are worn out- you feel the wood bench- and covered w crumbs. Mistake w regular spoons presented for soup, and soup spoons w dessert (details matter). I'll give it a meh.

Our dinner was a perfect compliment to a family wedding weekend when we're not in the wedding party.

A very sophisticated and unique experience. I would definitely go there over and over again.

Food and service was excellent. If you are looking for a quiet dinner for 2, go somewhere else. Its noisy. The dinning room has poor acoustics which amplifies the conversations in the room. I had to keep saying to my wife, "What did you say"? However, the food was excellent but expensive which I dd not mind paying since it was our anniversary. My server was attentative and courteous.

Elegant. Fine food far above all others in the area. A bit more expense but if you want to eat a great meal this is it.

Food was tasty and well presented. Tomato starter special exceeded expectations. Flounder was good, crab/lobster was good but could have been hotter. Nice ambiance but low ceiling meant that the loud table next to us made talking difficult at times. Once they left it was fine. Meals are not cheap but we enjoyed it overall. BYOB saved further expense. Will be back.

We had dinner at Whspers for the first time. When we arrived we were greeted by Nick. He had a few seating options available and let my fiancé pick the table that she would like to sit at. Our server, Izzy was very good. He was very friendly and knew the menu quite well. The menu had some great selections and they also had a few specials. We both loved our meal. It is safe to say that we will be back to visit whispers again.

Excellent menu/food. Pleasant and professional service. Nice dining room - not too noisy/good acoustics.

I have been going to whispers about once a season for probably 5 years now. It used to be a special place with great service and food. However over the last few years I have noticed a massive drop off in the quality of the food, pricing and ownership (the service is still very good and that is helping stop the bleeding). But the drop in the quality of the food in combination with the increased pricing has totally removed the how special this place use to be. The last straw was getting charged for small, average rolls. When you pay $60 or more for an entry you can give a customer a roll. Stop with the penny pinching. Additionally the owner seems more preoccupied with his real estate business. I spoke to him briefly at my last meal (late June) and all he talked about was local and Fla real estate. I was thinking if you were this interested in the restaurant and food quality the place would still be very good. But that is no longer the case. I give this place two more seasons at best. People are seeing the drop off.

We dined here with a group of friends, and unfortunately, the experience fell short across the board. The appetizers were just boring. They lacked imagination in both flavor and presentation, setting a disappointing tone for the evening. Things didn’t improve with the mains— tasted uneven, with some components overcooked and others underdone. At an average price point of $65 per entrée, we expected much better execution.

Desserts were overly sweet, and the crème brûlée was especially underwhelming—chilled and missing its signature caramelized top, it tasted more like a refrigerated pudding than a delicacy.

Service was equally inconsistent. Our waitress didn’t replenish water or wine after the initial pour, and surprisingly interrupted a heartfelt toast with an untimely offer for dessert. In a setting that claims fine-dining standards, attention to social cues and ambiance is essential—and here, it was noticeably lacking.

Overall, far from a fine-dining destination they claim to be.
