My husband and I had our wedding cake made there. We go there for the delicious pies. I went to Big Apple Bakery to inquire about my Son’s birthday cake and desserts. When I showed the person behind the counter what kind of cake I wanted I was told “We’re old school here, we don’t do that”. That’s very rude to say to a customer, fine I'll take my business elsewhere

We had the amazing opportunity of getting to work with Big Apple Bakery to customize our beautiful wedding cake!! Our guests could not stop raving about how amazing the cake tasted and looked! Working with the Big Apple team was a dream! From our first phone call to stopping by in person, to even delivering our wedding cake, the entire process was seamless and put our nerves at ease! It was clear to our guests that baking is Big Apple's passion and they do an AMAZING job at it! Big Apple Bakery will continue to receive our highest recommendations to anyone looking for the most amazing desserts. We are so excited to continue working with them for any big events we may have and are even more excited for weekly stop-ins to grab delicious treats. Haven’t been here since 2018 and want to plan a trip back to LBI so decided to make sure you guys were still here. Used to have a home here when I was a kid and we would summer in Surf City back in the 1980’s when Big Apple was right down the street from the beach. My 2 favorites were always the chocolate Boston crème and the powdered vanilla crème and I have fond memories walking to get donuts for the family.In 2018 after about 30 years of not coming the donuts tasted as good if not better than I remember them in 88. My only complaint is no location in Northern VA. Hope to see you soon!!

The quality of the pastries, breads, cakes, cookies and donuts are spectacular. We recently tried the pre-made Italian dinners and soups which were terrific. As new residents of Manahawkin, Big Apple Bakery has become our go-to place.

Recently moved to the area full time and looked at all of the great reviews so gave it a last minute try because I didn't want a grocery store cake. The store is very nice and clean. The different cakes and cookies looked like they would be delicious and there was a consistent level of customers in and out. Purchased 2 cakes: a vanilla with a custard filling and a chocolate iced one. I asked to have my kids names on each and instead of taking the cakes from the display the girl went in the back and came out with 2 cakes in boxes and away I went. The vanilla tasted and felt like an old frozen cake and the custard filling was not appealing. The chocolate was basically the same. No one we served it to wanted to finish it. I'm just quite baffled by the whole thing and won't be back. If the cakes weren't fresh, I would have preferred honest information and steered to a person who could help me with a better choice.
It is against the law to charge all customers using debit cards a fee what are you doing with our money???
