We went there on a Sunday at 10:20 AM . Their hours said 7am to 1pm. The doors were locked an just one guy in there. Why weren't they open? Disappointing😒😒

I went in for breakfast on a Sunday morning on the way to a Giants game and ordered an egg white sandwich with fried onions, two slices of pork roll, one slice of cheese, salt, pepper, and ketchup. As I explained my order, the blond woman at the counter acted as if my order was a bother, laughed and shook her head at my request. When I asked to have the bagel scooped/gutted I was told, "He (the cook) won't do that," as if it was a huge inconvenience to even consider. Then she said, "you don't need that the bagels are thin enough".
When I received my order, the bagel wasn't scooped as expected and there was also no salt, pepper, or ketchup and the few onions were basically raw! This was my second visit, and my first experience was similarly disappointing. I frequently order scooped bagels at other places, and this is the only establishment that has ever refused – or found it amusing that I wanted to limit the amount of pork roll and cheese. To make matters worse, we were the only customers in the place at the time, that in itself was not surprising.
The blond woman at the counter was unprofessional, and the staff was far from accommodating. It seems from other reviews, this is a common theme. I don’t typically write reviews, but the attitude we received, and poor service, were so aggravating that I felt compelled to warn others to go anywhere but there. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Two lovely ladies to serve you and a hoagie made in 2 minutes at noon what could be better? My only thoughts are upgrading the rolls a bit and going a little easier on the oil so the roll doesn’t get soggy. Ingredients and construction were top notch.

Great breakfast sandwiches! I do get breakfast take-out here regularly and love their sandwiches! They have a great, old-school, pork roll, egg & cheese on a hard roll that is definitly worth the price of admission! Service is great, the ladies up front are awesome, and the cook has got his craft down pat! Always cheerful and flexible and if they can do it for you, they will. Great menu with lots of choices and prices are competitive. Highly recommend MR J's in Manahawkin whether you are a regular in the community, or just passing through! Enjoy your meal!
