I was pleasantly surprised at this restaurant. We went for Father's Day buffet. Huge selection an each item was delicious. Our waitress was fantastic so pleasant. Everyone of the staff we came across smiled and said hello. Really nice place. Atmosphere is wonderful. It was a bit pricey but it was worth it.

I had eaten here once before and was excited to eat here again! We just happened in on Father’s Day and had learned it was a buffet. $65 per adult. Noticed the buffet item list menu on the side near the entrance (that list was incorrect for this buffet). By the end of everything, we were pretty thoroughly disappointed. Relatively small amounts of actual German faire (normally on the menu), the Saurbraten was so dry, other dishes subpar, and what was and was not included was unclear. I’m sure it was an off-day for the restaurant, but it was a costly one for the patrons, $300 later

Just had the most amazing experience. A buffet of all the wonderful food this place has to offer. From the soup to the strudle everything was exquisite. Service impecible as usual, but buffet was best because I did not have to choose what wonderful meal I was going to have I was able to have a sampling of everything! If ypu don't have dinner plans yet, better get going to Black Forest Inn in Byram!

Definitely on the pricey side. Service was a bit slow, but very friendly. Great experience and everything was very delicious.

Great experience here for Mother’s Day. Having some traditional German fair -little pricey but hey, you get what you pay for service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive. Couldn’t have had a better day.

I've been here many times but never left a review..until now. It is one of few traditional German restaurants around and it is a very cozy nicely decorated old school establishment with ample seating and a big bar. The staff is dressed in German outfits and were always friendly knowledgeable and attentive. Food was always good. My son took me there yesterday, the day before Mothers Day for dinner. He had the pretzel with beer cheese sauce, which was hard and not fresh and the cheese sauce was cold and tasted like chilled cheez whiz from the fridge. He got the wienerschnitzel with spatzle and dumpling which he thought was ok. Nothing spectacular. I ordered the beet salad which was ok, nothing out of the ordinary and beef rouladen for the entree....omg..lol
Upon arrival, it seriously looked like 3 turds scooped out of the toilet sitting in diarrhea gravy with a teaspoon of mashed potatoes and one baby carrot on top...with red cabbage and dumpling for sides.
Ok so I overlooked the poor presentation and ate almost everything except for one turd which I was too full to eat. Honestly, I wouldn't get the rouladan again as it was dry and I hardly saw or tasted any pickle in it. The red cabbage and dumpling sides were good. Son got some lemon bar thing for dessert which he liked and I had vanilla ice cream. I would definitely go there again since I do love the atmosphere and staff and the sauerbraten I normally get is very good. I want to try the beef stroganoff next time and the jagerschnitzel. Hopefully I won't be disappointed. I like to give honest reviews not to be a jerk but so hopefully they can be aware and improve to make a better experience for everyone in the future.

Would leave a worse star review if possible. 45 minutes no drinks . Had to ask for a server and sat . Don’t waist your time. Ask me how the food was … I don’t know !
Epic fail . Drove 45 minutes because love German food.

As usual, it was very busy during October Fest, so we were seated 30 minutes after our reservation and service, although courteous was slow.

Went to enjoy some fine German food and music. The food was great. Entrees, dessert, and cocktails and beer did not disappoint. Jagerschnitzel was delicious. The sides were just ok. The service was attentive. We went early on a Saturday. It got very busy later on

It's a tradition to attend an Oktoberfest dinner here: food is delicious; best German food in the area. Cranberry aperol spritz & herring appetizer were excellent!
