Not one person in that entire place knows what they’re doing, pretty embarrassing. NJ music scene actively avoids this place. Shouldve gone under when they had the chance.

Great to see the Legendary Stanhope House still open after facing "redevelopment" challenges close to wiping out this historic music venue. Sunny Swenney returns again with opening songwriter Tom McElvain playing to a nearly full house. Table service was a challenge (lower your expectations). House staff, thanks, Ren! Was friendly and accommodating
Hopefully, the doors to the Stanhope House will remain open into the future, would hate to lose this gem of a roadhouse.

What happened to this place?? I used to love this place
LOVED this place. I'm a huge fan of historical buildings with unique architecture and was glad to hear this treasure was recently saved from redevelopment. The staff was super nice and friendly, and I was impressed by how the server could remember which orders and bills went with which tables. The crowd probably varies depending on the band. I was there to see the Pink Floyd Project (excellent band!) so the mood was very friendly and laid back with strangers saying hello (or complimenting me on my cat ears ?) which doesn't happen as often (at least not to me) in venues closer to where I live so the distance was worth it. I would love to go back, and hope I can soon.
I read a few reviews where it sounds like the bartenders may not be the best. I didn't order any drinks at the bar so can't comment on that.

I've always loved this place but sadly, it's gone downhill. It really needs help and good management. It definitely needs some better bartenders behind the bar. They have some really good bands which is the only reason I go.

Had fantastic time during tribute to metallica show. The part we didn't appriciate was rude service, from moment we came in and throughout the night. Friendly service with positive attitude it is such a basic part od running good business.

You go for the live music period. But the food isn't terrible and the waitress is able to serve the whole room. Good drink and beer prices.
