Oh my goodness! What a hidden gem! This place is absolutely one of the best places for breakfast on the island! Staff is very personable and welcoming. Very tasty and generous portions. A must visit! A++

One of our go-to breakfast places. Good food, portions, service, and comfortable atmosphere at a reasonable price. Owners take a personal interest in your experience.

Parking: In season at peak hours you may have to search a few minutes. Other times easy to find.

I loved this place. The coffee mugs are so random that it’s awesome. The food was incredible and timely. The waitress and hostess were so friendly and warm. The seating is very quaint and not crowded at all. Try the pancake sizzler if you go, it’s worth the wait.

Through the years, our summer vacation would not be complete without at least one visit to The Sandbox Cafe. It is perhaps the first restaurant I ever fell in love with. It’s not just about the food. The feel-good ambiance created mirrors the menu of eclectically upscaled dishes, taking ordinary to legendary. A fun casual experience.I have always enjoyed their outside dining, canopied by trees and umbrellas, and surrounded by “beachy” decor. It is a space that feels more relaxed than home. The colors of the naturally landscaped patio, combined with hand-painted garden decorations provides the perfect feel-good beach vibe. I have always been so impressed that I try to recreate the feel in my own backyard. I wish they could come cook for me!And the food is superb. My favorite is the Chocolate Chip Sizzler, a deep-dish pancake loaded with chocolate chips and sweet cream filling. They always provide syrup, but it is not necessary. I suggest the large for sharing, so that you can order another dish as well. I would love to be able to one day say I have tried everything on the menu.Staff is so welcoming, and given the number of people they serve that is a tall order. My autistic daughter, Paige, often presents with challenging behaviors. She is now 21 years old and has grown up dining here. Everyone has always gone out of their way to make her feel special. That is something that isn’t on the menu, but it speaks to the caring touch they put on everything they do.While their original location is missed because it is where we started, having the capacity for indoor dining means more seasons to enjoy this family favorite. One visit to The Sandbox Cafe, and you will leave already planning your return trip.

my absolute favorite breakfast spot. We come every weekend and it has not failed us. Great menu with something for everyone (including vegetarian options). Go-to is the waffler combo with strawberries on top. Their fruit smoothies are god-tier, strawberry & mango combo is the best but they have a large variety to choose and mix from to suit your tastes! Claire is the BEST, an angel. We will continue to make this our weekend tradition.

Always a great experience. Owners and staff are amazing pictured is the cafe con leche, didn't get pictures of our food just had to dig right in. Hot apple pie crepes are my go to, my husband enjoyed the clam hash and eggs.

This place is amazing, best breakfast and pancakes on the island. Staff was awesome especially the host! She had things working like a well-oiled machine. 10/10 don’t pass this place up!

If you're looking for an amazing breakfast, this is the spot. The deep dish sizzlling pancakes are seriously like no other I've had. I'm local to LBI now and can't wait to get back!!

Had a delicious meal with my parents here today - I had the Parmesan baked eggs “sandbox style” (with spinach and arugula added), my dad had the daily special salad (arugula with strawberries, mango, some kind of vinaigrette, with grilled chicken added), and my mom had the veggie omelette. We were all very happy with the meal and the excellent service! The “sandbox style” Parmesan baked eggs were really something special. Excited to come back here next time I’m in LBI.

Must try place. Fun decor and most importantly, food was so good!! Definitely try their deep dish pancakes. One thing to note, it is cash only but they have an ATM on site, if needed.

I love the Sandbox for a most delicious and pleasant meal, mainly breakfasts, but they do a fantastic lunch as well. I love all the quirky decor, which brings happiness all around. The servers are attentive and cheerful. The coffee hits the spot, and the food is scrumptious. Win win!!! I forgot to mention that they make the most best pancakes on the Island, IMHO!

This is one of my Top 5 Favorite breakfast restaurants on LBI!It is a CASH ONLY Business but that certainly will never stop my great dining experience! The ambiance brings me great joy.

Food is great! Service is nothing less than horrendous. I have been here a few times to eat and the servers take forever to come around to take your order and check up on you as servers should do. On the other hand I just called to order pick up and the owner picked up. I politely asked what the specials were for today and I got a very rude “hold on” than heard the owner complain to her employees on the phone about how I wanted to know the specials for the day and how she doesn’t have time for that
