The unsung heroes. The literal hole in the walls. The low key places you wish you knew about. People I'm talking about bodegas. (Aka Hispanic corner stores for the uninitiated) Food 4/5 It's insatiable. They do everything pretty well and for dirt cheap. $5 cheesesteak with fries platters, steak and onions platter, chicken and rice platters. The hot food is limited to two options but the deli has plenty more. The chicken and rice platter is INSANE. The gravy is gold. I think that's what NYC is paved with. The rice and fragrant and delicate. Damn, I can't speak highly enough. The small is $5 and my stomach hurts as I type this, it's too much food. Service 4/5 Andy is the owner, he's super nice. You'll usually find him at the counter. Sometimes over the summer it's his son, he's a great kid. It's family run and I love that. Ambience ? It's a bodega.
