Worst shawarma of my life. Not only was he on his phone while preparing my food, he didn’t have gloves on. The chicken tasted like it was about to go bad so I threw everything away after a couple of bites. Will definitely not recommend

The chicken shawarma sandwich was terrible. It was all chicken and barely any greens. The chicken was so dry and and flavorless. It was a huge sandwich but 99% chicken. There was barely any sauce. Also the chicken didn't taste fresh, it seems like it would've gone bad tomorrow.

Had a chicken sandwich from here and there was a bone in the chicken, almost cut my mouth. Outside of that, the sandwich was bland, dry and tasted like it was a day old. Don't bother with this place.

Really was the best shawarma. The name name does not lie. Super authentic ethnic foreign customers, drinks with stuff floating in them, and lots of labels in characters that look maybe Cyrillic. I can not emphasize enough how delicious and fresh the chicken shawarma is. It's messy as heck so get extra napkins. The baklava was also excellent.

The Chicken was so dry. I tried this place with a lot of expectations due to the reviews but the meat was so dry. The wait was long too. The gentleman needs to wear a pair of gloves too.

Fantastic. I've had shawarma a elsewhere few times before, but I ordered the chicken, slightly spicy\y. It was fantastic.

The owner refused to wear gloves to make my chicken shawarma sandwich! The glove box was right next to him and I pointed it out . His answer was "I'm not wearing them , you can cancel your order " . That's so rude and unsanitary! Ew I left !

I love this place!! A small corner spot in Trenton. Parking can be a bit tricky, but the side streets will usually have a spot. This is my third time going here, this time I placed my order ahead of time on GrubHub to pick up. I got a medium mix (pork and chicken). The shawarma is huge!! You can easily get 2 meals out of it. If you order it spicy, you get a moderate spice. We also got a khachapuri which was delicious. The owner and his family are friendly. It's a great takeout spot and we're on one way to becoming regulars.

I’ve been passing this place for the past year and it always seemed interesting. Today I finally stopped in and let me tell you I did not regret it. I ordered the mix of chicken and pork Shawarma and was it an explosion or taste in my mouth. I followed up by taking a drink that I couldn’t read to learn it was tarragon soda. This drink was magnificent never have I tasted such a drink. It was different but in a very good way. I then ordered a snickers cake and it did not disappoint. Overall I’m very satisfied with taking the adventure to this place. I will be back and I will let others know about this place.

Food was inedible. Plus owner was racist. He assumed I was there to steal the food after I said my order name and exactly what I ordered. I was interrogated for 10 min before he let me take the food that I had already paid for in advance. Never again.

First visit was on a whim, and the food was delicious enough that the subsequent stop was carefully planned! While "Best Shawarma" may seem a bit arrogant and boastful as a name, and frankly the guy who answers the phone (and also operates the spit upon which the meats rotate) is a little gruff, their food is unlike that of the run of the mill gyro/shawarma purveyors out there. Why? For one, the place is definitely authentic. While it's a small shop with no dine-in tables (and I'd feel like I was bothering them if they had tables anyway), they have shelves stocked with Georgian cheese, snacks, drinks etc. I'm no linguist, but you will hear languages of the Caucasus within Best Shawarma's confines. Enough of that. How's the food? We ordered 2 medium shawarma and 1 imeruli khachapuri. A medium shawarma here will easily feed two, or do what we did and save half of it for later. I ate my leftovers cold and loved it, cold certainly makes for a different gustatory experience with many cuisines and it works here. The shawarma meat choices can vary, this day the store had chicken and pork available. My shawarma was ordered mild and with chicken, boo's was mixed (pork and chicken) with medium heat. She loved hers and was satisfied with the spice level, it isn't "burn your tongue and make you sweat," rather it's a nice complementary kick. Mild was fine for me and the chicken was piled high, mixed in with white sauce, lettuce, onion, and Georgian spices. They likely use svan salt, which I'd liken to Georgian adobo as far as its range of usage (not the taste, as it has dill and stuff). One can taste the dill and other things I couldn't put my finger on. Who cares? It tasted great and the meat was the star of the show! That's what differentiates shawarma from gyro, focus is on the meat. The shell isn't a pillow pita, it's a bit thinner and almost crispy. As for the imeruli khachapuri? I'd liken it to a rich, hot cheese-filled bread. Maybe not thick enough to be a pie, but it certainly didn't lack in savory, salty, warm Georgian cheese (likely imeruli based on the name). It's certainly something you can't get anywhere else, closest I can think of is Greek Tyropita. This dish could be a meal in itself, I was absolutely stuffed with one piece of khachapuri and half of the shawarma! Total for the 3 items was about $34. Paid in cash as they charge 4% extra for cards. Annoying but whatever. Call ahead as I was quoted a 30 minute wait at noon. Street parking isn't too bad and if you're scared because it's Trenton, don't be! Just go, save on the plane fare and enjoy a culinary experience from the other side of the globe.
