“I absolutely love this place! The food has always been very good but their service and responsiveness is amazing. I ordered fish soup not knowing it also had shrimp and immediately called them. They offered me another one without shrimp and were so accommodating about it. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for a delicious, local spot in Union City!“

“We had a late lunch here, they had just mopped so the place smelled extremely clean, we were going to leave, but the girls said that it was fine, I hate inconveniencing businesses during their hours, but they did not mind. My family of five was seated promptly, and our questions about certain menu items were answered, we had never tried Guatemalan food before, but we were excited to. The portions are huge.!“

“Been here twice now. Staff is friendly and attentive, though a few only speak Spanish. Got to try free samples of Horchata when we asked what it was. Extremely fresh strawberry milkshakes and horchata. Food takes a while to come out; we come here at eight food arrives at 8:40, and we finish up around nine when the restaurant closes. We’ve had great experiences with the Horchata, Strawberry Milkshake, Fried Chicken, and Carne Asada. Chorizo is hand-made in-house. Language barrier is no issue. This has been my only exposure to Honduran food so I can’t speak to the authenticity, but the food is really, really good. The pico de gallo that comes with the fried chicken is creamy and tangy, balancing out the fried chicken & fried banana chips really well. The horchata is a must-have; nutty, not overly sweet, made from freshly ground tiger nuts with a hint of lime.“

“I am no expert on Honduran food (this was my first experience of it), but this has become my wife and I’s preferred comfort food spot. The food is great, people are kind, and prices are affordable. We will keep coming back.
Our fav are the baledas con todo and horchata.“

“We were looking for some Honduran food when staying in the Bronx which is how we found this spot.My husband and I shared:- Pupusas Mixta- Baleada huevo con Chorizo- Pollo Frito al Estilo HondureñoThe Pupusas and Baleada were both fantastic. We got delivery and the Pollo Frito was kind of soggy. I'd love to try it fresh in the restaurant.“

“Delicious!!! Ordered thru 3rd party and I received everything I ordered exactly how I wanted!!! It was fresh and warm. The Honduran breakfast was amazing. Everything was so good and filled me up. Eggs were scrambled. I would ask them to be a bit more scrambled but it was good. It reminds me of Egyptian breakfast as they eat beans and eggs with cheese too. Loved it. Pupusas were filled well and the cabbage salad was great. The baleadas were eaten so fast I don’t even have a pic of it. Filled with crema and beans. Fresh tortilla. Delivery was fast and great drop off. Would definitely order from here again!!“

“Excelente comida 🤤 la atención al cliente muy excelente“
“First time visiting, and it didn’t disappoint! We came for lunch as a group of 8 and had a great experience. Wendy was our host—friendly, attentive, and clearly a hard worker who made us feel welcome right away.
We ordered a variety of dishes including the chicken sandwich, breaded chicken breast, skirt steak, shrimp, beef soup, tostones, french fries, tortillas, salads, and steamed vegetables. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared, with generous portions all around.
One of the highlights for me was the drinks—they offer natural fruit juices, including my favorite: freshly squeezed orange juice. You can really taste the freshness!
Overall, a great spot for delicious Latin food and warm service. Looking forward to coming back.“
“(Translated by Google) Very good food. Especially the chicken with the slice. The only thing is that the place is small. There is only room for three tables.(Original)Muy buena comida. Especialmente, el pollo con tajada. Lo unico es que es pequeño el lugar. Solo hay espacio para tres mesas.“

“The food is very good and affordable, unfortunately the staff is quite horrible. Mostly all the time they have bad faces as if one were going to ask, at least I have always been friendly even if they make bad faces at me. Their food is good, there is no denying it. It would be good if they changed their attitude towards the clients, at least the ones we spoke well to...“

“El Progreso is a cozy little restaurant, focused on typical Central American food and with very good service. I like to go, at least once a week, to share with my family the delicious tamales, baleadas, pupusas and tacos, accompanied by a delicious beet spice that they serve to their special clients. Tamarind and orchata waters are our favorites. Solidarity prices!“
