After I ate my 3 tacos I was ready to take a big nap because of how stuffed they got me! Small but extremely mighty. I ordered birria tacos, birria empanada and a el pastor torta the meat was so juicy it was dripping all over The el pastor consisted of el pastor, avocado, lettuce, cheese, jalapeños and mayo on a soft roll The birria tacos and empanada were a KILLER the tacos were nice and thick drenched in consomé UGHHH I loved them so much it was all over my face and hands Give Torta Truck a try if you are in the Jersey or Union City area! you won't be let down, I promise! *Check their Instagram daily for where they will be located for the day*

So, I've been quiet for awhile, but being that summer is over, I got my workout in, and I'm not in a bikini anymore I figured why not. I'm a s***** for a food truck and I've heard quite a bit about the Torta Food Truck - so when it was parked outside my place, I had to try it out. I tried both the tacos on the menu and the torta that the girl taking my order recommended (the beef one). Honestly, I thought I was gonna be obsessed with the tacos but the torta wow-ed me! I also ordered the consome which is like a stew/slash dipping sauce that they offered - I highly recommend getting this, I dipped everything in this!!! Also with the tacos they gave you two different hot sauces, a verde one and an orange-ish colored one (which packed a little heat). I used both! For the tacos, the pork one was good but the beef one (birria) was my favorite hands down. Also, they offer to put cheese on it and I did that as well. Both were flavorful, but the beef outshined the pork in my book. Really juicy and with the crunch of the shell it was perfect. I had both with the meat, cheese, and cilantro (you know I hate onions). The beef was seasoned very well, I assume with chiles and different types of spices. Pork was pretty flavorful as well. Now on to the torta, the bread was what made this sandwich, it was fresh and toasted. You got a bit of a crunch with every bite, it came with a four cheese blend, and mayo, which at first I wasn't going to put on but it came that way so I kept it and I'm happy I did. I dipped this in the consome as well and it added even more flavor. I would hands down be ordering from here again. Make sure if you see this truck around the area... STOP. Their menu online shows quite a bit more then what was offered tonight, def hope I get to try out their empanadas!!!

I'd call it more of a torta trailer. Good things still come within. Got some tortas and birria and they were fantastic. Highly recommend it to anyone in the area. Don't think I'll go to union solely for it again though.

INCREDIBLE!!! Got the birria torta and tacos with a side of broth for dipping. The tacos came with two salsas and lime wedges for additional flavoring. The Birria torta was the best torta I've ever had. The meat was tender, the bread had a nice crisp on the outside, and all the flavors melted together beautifully. The Birria tacos were also delicious but definitely a little more oily, maybe because of the additional cheese. I will definitely be going back!

Delicious! It was finally time to try this trending birria taco. We came to the Union City location. Cash only! Parked by a small metered parking lot. Make sure you pay bc we saw the meter police looking for expired times. Once you order they will take your phone number to txt you when ready. We ordered six birria tacos and two small consomes. Delicious! And the tacos were generously stuffed w meat. I'll be back! PS the definitely use the orange sauce with your tacos. And PPS don't forget to drink leftover consome!
I've been on a birria kick lately so Ive been trying different spots. This place was not it for me . Ramen had asian spices and flavors in it and the noddles were too soft . The Asian flavors mixed with the beef just didn't mix . I originally thought they just put the noodles in with consume and with beef but it's not . Anyways it didn't taste very good IMO . Tacos did not have cheese In them so that confused me . And the corn tortillas were soggy. Just wasn't it for me ! Sorry .

Omg I drove 45 min to this place to try it for the first time and we absolutely loved it. The flavor of the birria tacos was amazinggggggg..... so worth the drive. The young man who answers the phone and stands outside the truck is so pleasant and friendly. Thank you for such a great experience.

Make sure to check their instagram page before making the trip because their location is subject to change from union city to Jersey city. I ordered 6 birria tacos and a birria torta to share. The birria tacos were $3.50 each. They were crunchy on the outside and filled with meat and cheese. Don't forget to get the consome, with the small coming in at $1 and a large at $2. The meat and broth were both very flavorful with the consistency being thick enough to "stick" to the taco. The birria torta was really good and filling with the bread toasted to perfection. Everything definitely tasted better with their salsa's but they only gave me two tiny containers for what I ordered which was sad. Next time ill ask for more salsa but I would definitely be returning!
