We had just gotten off the beach and were in the mood for seafood. The place is small, but the food was very good. The lobster roll, animal style was really good. The air fried flounder and the crab cake all were good. The lobster bisque and the Mac and cheese was also very good. The young staff work very hard. No desserts available. We will return another time.

The boils are ok. The soup is fine. Do not order anything else. They have no fryer and all their stuff comes from a freezer.

Let me tell you why you need to get to PJ Buckets. A couple years ago we were in town for a family reunion. A smaller group of us were out and about and stopped in to PJ Buckets, Ventnor location. A couple years go by and we are STILL talking about the quality of the food at this joint. I don't remember anywhere else we ate on that trip. But we all remember the seafood boils at PJ Buckets. Don't sleep on this place. Get there, today. And they have shirts. Get yourself a proper T-shirt.

Stopped in with 15 people and they accommodated us perfectly even in their smaller location. We had such a joyful dinner and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier! The food was absolutely terrific as well. Highly recommend.

This place was a joke. The boil sauce was literally just seasoned water—no flavor, just a watery mess with floating garlic. Our order was supposed to come with corn and potatoes—didn’t get either. Nor did we get the second sauce we ordered.. Or the cornbread or roll where it specifically says “all boils include homemade cornbread or roll”
me and my friend both have horrible stomach aches from the food. the crab was way over cooked. To top it off, our server forgot our cocktail sauce and never once checked on us. Terrible service, bland food, and a waste of money. Never again.

3rd time eating at PJ Buckets in Ventnor, 1st time this summer of 2025.
Food was just bad, especially for the price. We ordered 2 double platters with crab legs, hard boiled eggs, clams, shrimp, corn. ($59.99) I also ordered a small fries, and a $25 lobster roll. (They sell a full lobster at the restaurant for $22.) Fries came after about 20 minutes, lukewarm and about 14 fries. Like 1/2 of a child size order?
Both of our platters were missing the shrimp! None! Had to ask for shrimp, which then took over 1/2 hour to get, and arrived as we were finishing. The clams were at the bottom and so overcooked they weren't edible, the crab legs were overcooked, but edible. The corn was killed and flavorless, simple.
My $25 lobster roll????
4-5oz of meat, tops. Grilled roll was good, but I think they cut the roll to make it shorter. It wasn't worth $10 let alone $25. It was served hot, with no noticeable seasonings or butter sauce. Meat itself was pretty good, but I got 2 stringy bites. The entire roll was probably 4 bites. There were 5 of us, and for over $200, it was not worth the money by any means. The experience took about 2 hours, and we were way too frustrated to go fight about the bill.
(Our bench seat was rusted and wobbly, we had to move. (We sat outside.) The service was super slow, but there are only a few tables. Last year, it was a completely different experience.
