A cute hidden gem! I was able to get a delicious coffee, a quick bite and get work done. I only wish it was open later.
I love everything about this place. Drinks are amazing and the service is always friendly
Love this place! Awesome coffee and cool atmosphere!
Finally had a chance to stop in and check out this coffee spot. Super hidden and almost missed it, but glad to we found it. The aesthetic is definitely on point and they want you to stay and hang out for a bit. We got shaken espressos and a chocolate croissant and stayed for a bit and played a few rounds of tic tac toe. The croissant was kind of tiny and more chocolate than pastry (which normally wouldn’t be a bad thing, but this was gooey!) and the espressos would have been a lot better if it wasn’t mostly ice.
Overall this place is really cute if you want to hang out and catch up with someone, but maybe I’d order a hot coffee instead?
Beautiful hidden gem! My latte was amazing and the atmosphere & vibe is out of this world! You’ve got to stop in today if you haven’t been yet! I got the salted honey latte with oat milk. It was such a treat & then I enjoyed it in the library lounge. I also scored a pair of beautiful earrings from their gift shop 💛⭐️🌙✨⚡️
Grabbed a coffee and did some work outside the other day in the beautiful weather, the staff were friendly and efficient! Personally I wasn’t a fan of the coffee, I had the coconut cinnamon latte (Cocoquito I believe!) with coconut milk - just tasted watered down and way too much cinnamon but the sweetness level was perfect. I’d come back for the comfy atmosphere and try a different drink!
This place truly feels like home—like stepping right into a cozy living room. I visited back in September 2024, and it was such a comforting, welcoming spot that I could’ve easily spent hours there (and nearly did!).
Their coffee is amazing—rich, smooth, and clearly made with care. I do hope they’ve updated the food menu since my last visit, as I would’ve loved a few more options to pair with their great drinks. Still, the atmosphere alone makes this place worth coming back to.
I can’t wait to revisit soon. If you’re looking for a laid-back, cozy café that makes you feel right at home, this is it.
I enjoy this coffee shop. The environment is great. Their drinks are phenomenally better than Starbucks. It's not as noisy as other coffee shops in the area. The sunlight is great in the library room.
The only downside is that one of the male baristas is not very friendly and he looks annoyed when you order a drink. He has consistently tried to close the shop 15-30 minutes early. He shuts down and cleans the machines before the end of shift so if you arrive like 15-20 minutes before closing time you might not be able to buy the drink you drove 20 minutes to get. I completely understand wanting to be efficient and needing to leave but it's inconvenient when you've driven 20 minutes across town for a to go drink based on the hours posted. He has also turned down other people so I'm not the only one with this experience.
I've been several times and female baristas are extremely friendly. Otherwise it was a 5 star experience. I just always hope I don't get the grumpy barista. It seems like I usually run into him though.
Parking: Sometimes the parking lot is full and it's hard to find a space due to the other businesses in complex.

This quiet little shop in Verona is not on the main strip of Bloomfield avenue which is nice. It's off pompton on a side street. Very quiet and calm area. They have a nice outdoor seating area that's under a gazebo, plenty of places to sit. They also have a nice indoor lounge and library where you can sit and read and enjoy your coffee. They offer many different latte options hot or iced. I had an iced cappuccino and my girlfriend had a Hot Apple Pie latte.

TL;DR: great coffee, not enough counter space for the Sunday rush can easily confuse orders, either take names or put full orders out and not piece meal them. Coffee is good. But the barista’s need help. The counter is too cluttered for the Sunday morning rush. They need more counter space to put orders out. As well a better way of telling orders apart. Today, I put my order in, and it came out. Little to my knowledge a group ordered in front of me before walking in. The order wasn’t mine, even though I pointed and got a head nod.

I’ve been coming to the compound for months now and the quality of the coffee is always consistent. The coffee tastes so fresh and authentic, it is very hard to go back to any coffee shop after trying the compound! The staff is very nice and the lounge area is so great to sit and get some work done. I highly recommend!
I love visiting The Compound for an intense workout, a tasty coffee (their fall menu is over the top amazing), a relaxing hour to myself, or a chat with friends- some of whom I've made at The Compound! The amazing owners and staff helped me plan a small private event that my group still talks about. This is the place!!!!!

Amazing atmosphere, amazing people, amazing coffee. And if that isn’t enough, they have the best sense of community that makes you never want to leave. Whether you want to sit back and read a book, get some work done, or just hang and chat with family and friends there is something for everyone. Also, the attached gym offers a variety of classes that are all a MUST try. Coffee and a workout- what more could you need?! Cannot recommend enough!!!!!

I was looking forward to adding a new cafe to my WFH roster, but I can’t recommend this one. The coffee was good, and there is wifi, but the volume in the seating area was too loud for work. I could hear the conversations through my noise cancelling headphones and there is no way I could have taken a meeting. There was a group of regulars (the baristas knew them by name) that was playing videos with music on full volume, talking very loudly (the benefits of adderall and how to inject yourself with testosterone) with arguing kids in tow. It’s a cute space, but if you’re looking to work and focus, I can’t recommend.
