The menu is not overly extensive, but the choices are "spot-on". I look forward to my next visit, and the next, and the next ... .

What an absolute gem on what has become a mini restaurant row in Verona on a strip of Bloomfield Avenue. We arrived promptly at 7:45 on a Saturday evening to this tiny dining establishment and were warmly greeted and shown to the last open table that had clearly been reserved for us. The space is airy, modern and tiny but the tables are adequately spaced so it doesn't feel cramped. There are maybe 6-8 chairs at the counter which abuts the kitchen but the view is obscured by frosted glass panes which both looks nice and serves as an attractive screening to the working kitchen. The owner milled about to ensure we were taken care of. The servers were lovely and very accommodating. We started with the octopus appetizer and the cold soup. Could we have the grilled broccolini without the Parmesan for our vegan friend? Check! For the record, I would have ordered it as is save for my company and our intent to share. We also ordered the smoked eggplant side and shishito peppers- both were so tasty. I ordered the halibut in accordance with our serves recommendation. It was quite good but just a hair overdone. The fish was slightly chewy and not quite flaky like a good halibut usually is. Our friends had the cauliflower steak and salmon which had an alternate preparation from what was on the menu. Both looked spectacular and garnered rave reviews from our friends. When our entrees arrived it became apparent that they hadn't put in my husband's Rohan duck order. They omitted his order and instead had prepared a second cauliflower steak dish. No problem... they apologized profusely and on the spot asked us to please order dessert on them. When the duck arrived, it looked wonderful and was very much to my hubbys liking. We had plans to have dessert elsewhere so when we informed the server, they told us that they were discounting our check 10% and that we should come back for dessert on the house another time. Now that's customer service. We can't wait to come back because the food is flavorful, prepared with care, simple but elegant and plain yummy. The staff really cares and it shows. The bathroom which is a single is a stunning modern one and the cleanliness just makes you feel right at home. The place is also BYO so a bonus if you like that. We can't wait to come back.

We met friends for dinner. We had eaten there before and were impressed enough to invite friends to join us. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The menu is not huge but had something for everyone. Try it out.
Second time at this lovely restaurant. Really enjoyed everything on the menu that we ordered. Very mindful of people's dietary issues and allergies. Excellent service! We will most definitely be back!

This was our first visit and has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants. I love farms to table, organic restaurants and Zaferon did not disappoint. I had the summer salad, yogurt marinaded chicken skewers and pomegranate sorbet with vanilla gelato. Each course will prepared well, nice combination of herbs and perfect proportions and simply delicious. One small criticism was the dressing on the salad was a little to tart for my taste. Overall, a great dining experience and we'll be back.

As always, our dinner was excellent. I started with the grilled octopus, which was very tender, and had the cowboy steak special - perfectly done. My wife had the oysters and then the lamb, which she enjoyed very much. We had a reservation but actually the restaurant was not crowded so we could have just walked in. Not inexpensive, especially for a BYOB, but the food was fantastic.
I have raved about this restaurant and brought my parents along for dinner this Friday night. It was a hit! The restaurant is beautiful, the service is terrific and the food is outstanding.

My wife and I had brunch at Zaferon Grill. The interior is modern and clean. We ordered the Wild Mushroom Frittata, Salmon Benedict and last but not least- the French Toast (our favorite). All were very flavorful, though the portions were a little smaller than we are used to. We look forward to trying other dishes and making use of the BYOB.
If I had gotten this food at a casual Mediterranean restaurant at a fair price and with better portions, I would have been ok with it. They serve up middle of the road semi-Mediterranean cuisine and plate it as if it is elevated Michelin Star cuisine. This place tries too hard and doesn't succeed.

Absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Staff is extremely courteous and attentive but not bothersome. Presentation of dishes was right in line with the best. Every bite was delicious. Kudos to Soody and her entire staff for a wonderful experience. Planning a return trip asap!
