First time at Charlie’s Place and was looking forward to trying it after hearing good things. Food is very good but the service is lackluster at best. Had to ask multiple times for anything needed and the demeanor was as if I wasn’t there. It’s a nice place and I’m sure a solid experience if the service can hold up to the level of food. It’s loud with music and a venue that is relatively small.

The best wings in the state of NJ. Honestly the best bar food I’ve ever had. Abbey was our waitress - she was top 3 in Nj too. Top 3 - unreal. The wings. Unreal. I could suck em down everyday good and proper I’ll tell ya, one time.

This was my first time dining here, and it was an absolutely lovely experience. We chose to sit at one of the outdoor tables, which was a perfect choice for a peaceful and relaxing meal. What I Liked (Pros): Atmosphere: The outdoor seating area had a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere that made the dinner feel special. Service: From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and efficient. Menu: I was impressed with the variety on the menu; there were plenty of interesting options to choose from. Food Quality: Most importantly, the food was very good. Every dish we had was well-prepared and delicious.

Charlie’s Place strikes a perfect balance between familiar comfort and culinary sophistication.
The mozzarella sticks were outstanding—garnished with fresh pesto and a dusting of grated cheese, they arrived with a dipping sauce that defied the usual marinara expectations. Easily the best version of this classic I’ve encountered.
The chicken wings were equally impressive—crispy on the outside, they were glazed, not drenched, allowing the skin to maintain its texture while delivering bold flavor. The gorgonzola blue cheese dip deserves its own mention—far more substantial than the usual afterthought it tends to be elsewhere.
We also sampled the pork belly bao buns, Caesar salad for something green, and rounded out the meal with some well-crafted cocktails.
James and the staff were welcoming and attentive. A must-visit spot for a relaxed yet refined night out.

Food was good, not great. Typical upscale pub decor. Service was spotty, had reservation but table was not set up, and the server was sweet but either brand new or a little air headed. Half table's food came out and 4 minutes later other half. Also limited menu.

Tired of the menu changes. Food is to inconsistent. Some is good though. But really tired of management playing favorites with certain customers. I Literally spend more money there than most of your best customers. Tired of the stupid high class upper Bergen county vibe in there. Wish it was back to Amsters. I’ll start going to houlihans again. Waist of money when half the bartenders make horrible drinks at this point anyway.
Unable to eat. Ribs way too spicy pizza was dripping in oil. Expensive. Paid our bill but no one offered to credit or bill

Tried to get reservations for 6 and they only had 5 pm but when we got there the entire rear area was available. We ended up in the noisy bar sitting at uncomfortable bar stool table staring at tv monitors that were distracting. Couldn’t engage. Food was far with a weird Ceasar salad and no bread. Might be better for a bar seen….
