Tucked just by the Waldwick train station, SOMA Cafe is a calm little spot where the occasional passing train adds a bit of charm rather than noise. The kitchen shines: the grilled sandwich is crisp and satisfying, the crêpe is well executed, and the Eggs Benedict (especially the velvety sauce) are genuinely excellent.
Where SOMA stumbles is the drinks. The coffee doesn’t match the quality of the food (aroma, temperature, ...), and the “orange juice” comes from a can, surprising at this price point. Freshly squeezed would be the expectation here. On the upside, the staff are warm and attentive, which makes the experience pleasant.
Bottom line: This is actually 3.5/5. I’d happily return for the food and the vibe, but only if the beverage program steps up: better coffee and real juice would make SOMA a standout.

Cute little spot right next to the train and underneath some apartments. Our normal weekend coffee shop is closed for summer holiday this weekend so we decided to give this place a shot. The coffee was alright, nothing special though. The food was delicious. We got two owners omelets.

I found it to be rather overpriced, especially for the coffee hence the one star removal. I guess that’s what you get for the area it’s in.

If you’re obsessed with the absolutely adorable spoons like we were, you can buy it on Amazon!

I love this place so much. I have been coming here to eat breakfast and hang out all week while waiting for my son at basketball camp. Love the veggie omelet, salad, and my caramel latte with oatmilk. Karma and Samantha are super friendly and have remembered my order, and service is really fast. There is shaded outdoor seating and a play area. People that come here seem like regulars. If only I lived in the area, I would be too. Thank you so much for a great week!!!

I stopped in for a coffee, and for how much I paid the coffee was SO bad! It was watered and just tasted awful.

Other than that I loved the space and the fact that there is a play area for kids

So fun! Just the right amount of whimsy without being cheesy. The crepe- definitely cheesy though- oh my yum! Great, inventive coffee drinks. Lovely outdoor space for a relaxing summer brunch. Parking wasn’t the easiest- plan ahead to drive around a little.

SOMA Cafe & Creperie in Waldwick is a charming little spot that’s easy to get to and even easier to park at, which is always a plus. The space has a pretty, cozy atmosphere, great for catching up with a friend or enjoying a quiet breakfast or lunch.

I tried one of the sweet crepes with Nutella, and while the crepe itself was excellent (light and nicely cooked), the filling was very sweet—sweeter than expected, even for Nutella. A little less would have gone a long way. That said, the rest of the menu looked great, and I’d definitely go back to try a savory option or one of their coffees.

Overall, a relaxing and inviting spot with solid food. Just be mindful if you’re ordering something on the sweeter side.

Cozy little spot with great coffee and great food. I had an iced tiramisu coffee, 8/10, it was pretty good. The bacon, egg and cheese sandwich was also really good. The yogurt bowl was a nice treat, also good. My sister had the caramel iced coffee with the omelette, she also said it was pretty good. Prices are decent. Def would recommend.

According to TooGoodToGo, you’re getting 15$ worth of product for 5$.
While I understand this is a method of deterring food waste, I use it as a way to get to know locally owned locations.
The service was not the best, it seemed that whomever was at the register definitely did not want to be there, or as if my TooGoodToGo order was a waste of her time and food. If you don’t want to fulfill the orders, don’t register yourself on an app where people are going to be walking in to pickup at the fraction of the price.
I recieved 2 pistachio cookies and a chocolate cookie, not even equivalent to the 5$ I spent on TooGoodToGo, meaning I was overcharged.
While they were delicious, I could have purchased from the shop directly and saved myself money….
Again, customer service definitely needs work, and if you don’t want to sell what’s described, don’t register yourself on app and state one thing, and hand another.

A solid okay, part because of the server who was short and didn't seem to want to be helping us with our order. The crepe was okay, filled with whatever you wanted but having been brought up in Montreal, it lacked the bechemel, crispiness, perhaps gruyere among other states items that make a crepe a crepe. The omelette was good as was the greens on the side. Coffee was good and the cat spoon with biscotti was appreciated as was the smoothie. A tootie frutti. The restaurant is tucked next to the train tracks with the entrance looking kind-of speak-easy. Once inside it is inviting as is the outdoor space but avoid if kids aren't your scene, they are kid friendly. Hostess was lovely and I guess tried to .ale up for the grumpy waitress.

This is the cutest little restaurant, with fabulous customizable crêpes and everything else you might want for breakfast or lunch. Pleasant atmosphere and good service.
