Train desperately needs a paint job.
Lawn& parking area need to be cleaned up. Not appealing when you drive up to the place.
Staff( 2 young guys) lacked personality.
Came with 2 young children who wanted to sample a flavor that they had never had before. Was told that we don't do tasting.
Very low on the ice cream flavors that we ordered. Mine had chunks of ice in it & cup wasn't even filled.( was the bottom of the container)
VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

We were gonna go their but we decided to pass it up for its appearance. It didn’t look inviting. Maybe the food is great, but we didn’t get that far to find out. Their is also barely any parking from what I saw.

We've been here so many times and it's really such a great part of the town! Also the prices are absurdly cheap so it's always a low cost snackTheir breakfast and lunch items are super tasty - egg sandwiches, hot dogs, cheesesteaks, fries, etc. They're better known for being an ice cream shop, and the flavors are great and the service is always excellent

If you want to demonstrate how to lose local customers this place is a case study. After having visited for ice cream maybe a dozen times, I was with my 7 year old granddaughter today and the owner let me know that it’s too bad that a 7 year old can’t decide on a flavor, she absolutely could not have a teaspoon taste because she should know what X flavor tastes like. I used this as a teachable moment and told my granddaughter that you should never give your money to any business that makes it as difficult as possible to do business with them

Great local spot. Extremely friendly owner/staff. You can’t beat the breakfast sandwiches. Meat, 2 eggs, cheese on a round roll for $4.25. Also great for lunch and homemade ice cream.

Really lovely spot. This is my son’s favorite place to come and see the great model train setup. Really friendly and kind staff and a true neighborhood gem.

I want to like this place but the woman (owner?) that works this place is legit mean. She is rude and treats customers horribly. She was so rude to my young daughter it was heartbreaking. Can't recommend this place.

I loved going to eat @ The Whistle Stop with My Daughter Aimee, & My Grandbabies, Owen Joseph & Eva Rose Mangan. We always enjoyed the ladies who owned it. The food was delicious, the special of the day meal was yummy, & My Grandbabies loved when the train would come through!! The last time I ate there was about 1 1/2 years ago. My Daughter Aimee was pretty much a regular there with Owen!! I will always remember the memories of eating @ The Whistle Stop. I love the ladies who run it & will miss them!!Love Owen's Grammy, Pat Mastromonico & Aimee's Mom, Pat Labazzetta/MastromonicoP.S.-Aimee & My Grandbabies have moved away from Waldwick to go & live in Colorado.

This is my sons absolute favorite place! He’s autistic and loves loves ice cream so if he ever has a crummy day this is the place to take him. He loves to see the train displays. The owner Tami is so nice and understanding of my son! We love the whistle stop!

Excellent ice cream. One of a kind ice cream shop. The small children will love the train setup outside.
