Good food
Poor quality! Owner is unprofessional! Food taste horrible. I wouldn’t recommend going here at all.
I have gone several times to Aherns seafood Market since new owners have taken over and the products I have purchased are as fresh as they have ever been. I go there for all my seafood needs especially the sea scallops and the flounder. The scallops are always fresh smelling and sticky which tells me they are brand new. The flounder and fluke are cut fresh daily. Customer service is great and they are always willing to help me with suggestions on what to get. No complaints here.
I have been shopping there for years , no change from old ownership to new. , friendly staff and the best scallops I have had , I love seafood and it’s 80 percent of my diet I wouldn’t dream of shopping anywhere else , I highly recommend the day boat scallops !
poor quality control received a bad batch of scallops that tasted like ammonia supposed to be fresh definitely were not been going here for years but not anymore its a shame it has gotten this bad
sold me $150 worth of spoiled fish for Christmas eve dinner scallops and shrimp tasted like bleach completely un edible brought the rest in uncooked the day after Christmas. extremely rude Owner/manager refused to make things right even ate one of the shrimp i brought in that was pulled out of my trash it was sitting at room temp in my house for over 24 hours to "prove" they were "fine" if he will do something that extreme and not care about himself then do you think he would care what he is feeding you ? steer clear this place is a hazard old owners were much better
Too bad aherns seafood market changed ownership. New place is horrible. Seafood not fresh, soups and sides not good. Yet they are very overpriced. Taken my last visit
Fresh fish tasty side dishes, staff is knowledgeable, prices are reasonable
Poor customer service! We’ve been buying seafood from them for over 20 years. My husband goes once a week in the summertime. My husband bought a pound of scallops that cost $30, we cooked them a day later and we had to spit them out. They tasted like ammonia. He went back the following week to buy more seafood and told the manager about it. He said he did get other complaints about the scallops but we should have called the next day. He threw him a few extra clams and acted like he did us a favor.
Just bought some flounder which was the worst I’ve ever had from there. Extremely fishy and bones in the filet. This used to be my go-to place for fish but no more.
Restaurantji Recommends
Used to go here religiously when we lived in the area. Moved away and would stop here to stock up. After the change in owenership, NO MORE. Clams casino were nothing but stove top stuffing mix with chunks of green and red peppers stuffed in an aluminum clam shell. No clams at all! Miss the lightly breaded clams casino WITH gritty clam pieces, finely chopped peppers and onions and an extra hot sauce zip to them. Better than restaurants. Unfortunately, will not come here again. RIP Ahearns prior to 2024
Prices are high, stuff looks dingy and old, staff is young unable to answer questions not a big fan
Reliably awesome. Highly recommended for all seafood needs. Much better than the other groceries and shops around.
I bought a lot of shrimp from Ahearn’s, but the shrimp tasted like they were treated with bleach or chlorine. I had to throw them out. Disappointing quality.
Always great options, great soups
