The ambiance is my favorite thing about this place. It feels warm and comfortable inside. The food and service were great. I'll be going back again.

Whitey fish, too many bones and salty. Didn't ask, but the butter should've came out, melted for the biscuits. Food should've came out on time not just eggs and biscuits but a fish also. Grits a little salty. Service was good. Ambiance great!

I wanted to like this place more than I did. Perhaps this place is inconsistent based on so many loving this place but so many being dissatisfied. If a few things changed if probably rate it higher. Food was tasty overall, other than the Mac and cheese which had some kind of funkiness to it. Not sure if it was seasoning, the cheese, or something about the water. I liked that one of the owners sat down next to us to take our order. It was friendlier than the overall sense from the others that they were getting work down and we were slowing them down! They serve homemade ice teas and lemonade. Everything is in the sweet side, so nothing really for someone who needs to be careful with sugar. However, more importantly is they there was a funky smell to the tea. It tasted fine, but if we sniffed it, there was a sulfur smell. Not sure if it was the ice or water or something else but made it less appetizing. On leaving, they must have been preparing for dinner as it was very hard to get attention so we could leave. I had to tell family to go to the car so I could try to track down someone in the kitchen to help me. When I did, I got a whiff of that sulphur smell coming from the kitchen as well. They need to figure that out. It's affecting the tea and I don't know what else. I could imagine it would be neat to be here for a night of jazz on the small stage up front. A lot of possibilities. I hope they are willing to read reviews and work in the suggestions. Many others have mentioned things they should take to heart.

My family & I go to breakfast every yr to celebrate my mom & dad anniversary in Heaven. I decided to go somewhere different than where we usually go. The place is nice it’s small, saw that they have a band but not playing today. The wait was long, when we ordered our food but made to order usually takes a minute, we finally started getting our food the guy was confused about who ordered what. We started eating the food although good was very salty if you have health issues do not go here. This was our first time so we didn’t know. I told the cook when leaving & he seem to get upset, he said that soul food restaurants are usually high in salt, I disagreed, he told me that maybe this wasn’t the place for us, but if you are trying to bring in customers & this was our first time, I might be inclined not to come back just because he said what he said, but one of my brothers said he would give it another chance & so would I & just tell them to dial it down on the salt. I had the ribeye steak & eggs, I have never gotten a steak from anywhere that was that salty I couldn’t eat it all, my husband had the catfish, sister n law had the whiting fish both very salty I liked the grits & eggs, I also had the snack fried shrimp which was good. All & all we would give Four Brothers another try.

This is a wonderful local restaurant. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. The smell of good food permeates the air. The food was very good. The meals are southern style and cooked even better than at home. Yes, I said that! I had the chicken and waffles. It was a buttermilk waffle, and I had three chicken legs with it. The waffle had a great flavor and was not too sweet. I appreciate that they offered real butter on the table, not margarine. The chicken was crispy and seasoned well. Perfectly cooked on the inside. I wish I had enough room to also eat some grits, but it would have been impossible. I am not local to NJ and traveling for work. I went to 4 Brothers Breakfast because of the pictures of their food and their menu. I was not at all disappointed and would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone who likes great food.

Simply the BEST authentic southern food and hospitality which transports me back to all the fabulous home cooked meals enjoyed in the Deep South. The real deal.

Wonderful comfort food, good service, and owned by good people! We needed a breakfast spot for our family of 8 to kickoff the holiday weekend and 4 Brothers was recommended by friend. This place did not disappoint! We had fish and grits, shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, eggs and biscuit and everyone left full and satisfied. One of the owners, Jason, was friendly and engaging. It's a family-owned business and they take pride in their food, service and hospitality. We will definitely be back!
