Food was very basic. Average portions, Hostesses, servers arent friendly & they close early 9pm. Great for groups as tables seat 10. There is parking, clean. There was a great young waiter he was wonderful, didn't catch his name. Owner replied offered no apology for rude Hostesses & didn't understand, I meant TASTE was very badic. The soup photo here was Vegetable soup. It was only onion & bokchoy nothing else. Basic

We ordered takeout with a package deal which you pick three dishes and a soup. The chicken with eggplant is delicious.
Very reasonable price for a family of three.
Definitely will recommend to my friends.

I have been to this place many times, even with my family, the food was good and the service was excellent, two days ago I was there with two members of my family, the service was disgusting, the tea cups were all dirty, I kindly asked them to change the waitress got bored, then they forgot my white rice with my chicken I asked for it and she brought it to me in a smelly little bowl with the ice cold rice. However, they lost 15 customers.

I like the taste of the food this restaurant cooked, although each person has their individual preferences. Certainly, it's not nice for additional charges if you pay a credit card.

I’ve been here many times and always happy with everything. Today was the first time I went in a during lunch hours. Never again will go during that time. Restaurant was empty. We started off with soup dumplings, they had a weird after taste (and I’ve had them before). We also ordered chicken wings. I wish I took a picture. They were not good at all. So much flour that it tasted like just fried flour no seasoning at all. My wonton soup had 1 wonton and no salt. I ordered the eggplant in garlic sauce (did enjoy) with vegetable fried rice. I had to return the vegetable fried rice bc it tasted like dirty water. Overall not a good experience. Also the waiter seemed annoyed to begin with because we did not order right away. We usually like to eat our apps then order. Mind you it was empty. So no need for rush.

One of the best places in North NJ to have Sichuan & Mala Chinese food.

My husband I ate at this place yesterday, and the food was awful in our opinion. The Wonton soup was tasteless and only had two wontons. The egg rolls were just ok. My vegetable lo-mein had only one type of vegetable in it. They do not serve the Chinese noodles for the table. My husband had pepper steak with onions, and he said it was tasteless. On top of all this, the tea was so weak that it was like drinking hot water. Obviously, we will not go back.

One of the most popular Chinese restaurants in northwest NJ. The food here is pretty authentic, leaning towards traditional Sichuan flavors, though some dishes can be a bit on the salty side.

Their Sichuan homestyle dishes, like Kung Pao Chicken and Sautéed Pork Kidney, are well-prepared and flavorful. The staff is friendly and attentive, which adds to the overall pleasant experience.

For the area, Cheng Du 23 is a solid choice and stands out as one of the best Chinese options around. However, if you're used to dining in New York City or central NJ, it might feel more like a 3-star experience by comparison. But locally, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Selected fried chicken pieces with corn. Too spicy. Fried emasculated flavor. Few pieces of tiny corn. First time there. Also special fried rice. Tasty yet slight on ingredients. Been recommended by friends. Perhaps didn’t spend time reviewing many unusual dishes offered. Worth another try.

The new waiter needs more training. For one, he is not familiar with the menu. But, instead of making some effort to get up to speed with the menu by asking other waiters/waitress, he would ask customers to order some appetizers in place of the dish he did not know about. This is not good for both customers and the business. The other thing bothered us was that, when he came over to take away some empty dishes, he would bring dirty dishes from other tables to our table and stack them together on our table. This is disgusting to say the least.

This isn’t your typical Chinese restaurant — Sichuan dishes are packed with flavor and spice, and I love it. The place can get *extremely* busy on weekend nights, and the staff seem overextended.
