Gencarelli's Bakery

Went there today for chicken cutlets spent $30 and one of the pieces were eggplant and the other pieces were so thin and dry you couldn't even eat them. I called to complain and was left on hold .... What a disappointment

Items purchased were not fresh. Jelly donut was OK, cream donut had little cream; raisin bun was stale with 3 raisins; cheese pocket was dry and nothing to write home about.
It is worth the drive to B&W

Much more than a bakery. The bakery is the star of the show, but they also have a lot other Italian goods you can shop amongst the shelves. They have a bakery section for bread and they also have some gelato and it looks like they're preparing to have a few other sections as well.

It was packed when we went but they have a pretty decent parking lot and most people were in line for baked goods. We got a bunch of things and all of them were delicious. The cannolis were delicious and sweet and I want to go back for more. The lace cookies were also great and they even have really good brownies.

They packed our stuff up in nice bags and boxes and we brought it home to share with family and it was a hit.

Constructive criticism: the two younger employees who were running the bakery counter seemed a little overwhelmed and mildly grumpy. Maybe they just needed a little more assistance or it had been a long day but I'm just putting it out there that it could use a little bit of improvement.

My first time there and probably wont go back, their pasties were just mehh nothing special, and pricey. I always go to Palazone also in Wayne but by the other side right by Willobruck mall, they have authentic Italian pasties..

I think they should’ve stayed at their smaller location in Wayne. The new location is too large and they can’t seem to handle it. There are pastries in one section, bread in another, and hot food in a separate section. Customers were very confused as to where to order. If you want bread and pastries you have to wait on two separate lines. I ended up leaving with only bread because I wasn’t going to wait twice. I think it’s ridiculous to make people wait twice, whereas in the old location you can get everything at once. Every person on the line waiting was confused and complaining of their lack of product and lack of organization in the line. There looked to be a lot less bakery items compared to the smaller location, as well. We went at 12:30 in the afternoon, and they were out of bread and weren’t making anymore. It seems they tried to grow bigger and lost their traditional bakery feeling. Not worth the wait or worth trying ti navigate the parking lot. Very disappointed.

Went in late because it has been packed in Wayne NJ location for days. Expected an amazing bakery with fresh baked goods. Spent $50 bucks on multiple items 7 things to sample... What a disappointment 😞 honestly don't understand why so packed cupcakes tastes days old stale, eclairs were also days old hard like the cupcakes. Nothing was edible as it was stale. Massive disappointment not even a close comparison to any decent bakery like the bakery in Fairfield off rt46 were it's always fresh, moist and edible! Don't waste your money until you try it !

I searched for Gluten Free bakeries near me, and Gencarelli’s popped up in the search. They do not have Gluten Free options.

Their regular bakery options cakes, donuts, pastries are all very good. I can’t wait to go back and try one of their sandwiches.

I try the new location in Wayne and it was disappointing. The coffee was weak. The pastry was old. I bought a small cheesecake and a chocolate mouse. The cheesecake had an after taste, it tasted weird. The chocolate mousse was frozen in the middle. Not the best experience.

Excited to go there, had to drive in parking lot and surrounding street to find parking. Got in the store, which was very spacious but had lots of empty shelves, not sure why. Went home disappointed and empty-handed. Not sure if I'll go back, will need to hear if others experience was better.

We ordered an Elsa-themed cake and cupcakes for my daughter birthday and everything was beautiful and delicious. The customer service was amazing — very patient, responsive, and helpful, answering all my questions. Highly recommend this bakery! ❄️🎂

Beautifully designed and decorated store... eyes feast on the perfectly placed goodies that taste even better than they look. Just got over 20 dozen donuts for a function and every one of them was gorgeous!

Gencarelli’s Bakery offers really tasty baked goods. While the service could improve a bit, the quality of the food makes it worth coming back. I’m definitely giving it another visit

Best place in the area to get authentic Italian pasteries. They stuff their cannoli's on the spot which is essential. The staff is super nice and they are beyond helpful. They have amazing cakes also especially the chessecakes and rumcake. I also recommend going here for all their season tartufo- pistacchio and pumpkin are the best.

Paid 30$ for a dozen day(or days)( old cupcakes. Would have been much better to use 5$ worth of ingredients. Tried the mini upside down pecan cake thing. Used to buy a big version from them years ago that was delicious. This stuff again tasted old and bland. Disappointing
