Authentic Mexican food all the ingredients were fresh and delicious. Ordered shrimp tacos steak burrito guacamole and chips ceviche. Everything was yummy!

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The carnitas enchiladas with green sauce were absolutely delicious—definitely a must-try! The atmosphere inside is fantastic, too. A big thank you to Tamara and Jaime for making it such a memorable visit!

Guacamole is a gastronomic gem in the typical pizza-or-chinese-on-every-corner Jersey suburb of Wayne. Nestled unassumingly in a strip mall, this authentic Mexican restaurant is exactly what you're looking for.
I've visited Guacamole several times for lunch, and I have never EVER been disappointed. How do you know this is authentic? You'll know when you walk in. This isn't some big coporate chain restaurant.
You're greeted by the proprietress who always says "Hola!" with a big smile that makes you feel all warm and welcome. She'll direct you to the seating area and WOW - the colorfully painted murals and tables make you feel like you're at a fiesta, celebrating a holiday in the Mexican countryside. If I could give atmosphere a 6-star rating, I would.
The staff is really nice and attentive. After you seat yourself, you’re given a bowl of tortilla chips and about 10 minutes after ordering you'll receive your platter of food and a trio of different homemade sauces: garlic, medium and hot (beware of the hot one!).
I've ordered the following highly reccommedable dishes (as seen in my pics):
- quesadillas
- burrito
- chimichanga - like a big, deep fried burrito
- tacos
- tostones
For a protein, I usually pick tinga, chicken in a chipotle sauce - yum! Also, I always have to drink either a homemade Jamaica (ha-MAI-ca) a sweet sangria-colored hibiscus drink or a Jarritos soda.
As you can see from the pictures, these aren't small portions. You could easily eat half and save the rest for later.
Looking for some real good, authentic Mexican food? Drop by Guacamole in Wayne. Try the tinga, Jamaica and remember, easy on the hot sauce :-D

Everything about this place is incredible! Ordered here plenty of times and the food is always fresh, cooked with perfect taste in a timely manner and authentic. The staff is warm and welcoming. I can’t recommend it enough!

My fiancé and I recently discovered this place and we simply can’t get enough. The food is flavorful, the owner & staff always make it a point to say hello and the prices are just right. Highly reccomend to anyone in the area. Trust me that you won’t be dissapointed!

New Wayne residents and lovers of all Mexican cuisine. We finally got to Guacamole, the last stop on our tour of Mexican food in the area, and clearly saved the best for last. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Service was speedy and kind, atmosphere was really fun, and food was DELICIOUS! Best tacos anywhere, amazing queso fundido, giant burritos… tan delicioso.

I cannot believe that I haven’t came here sooner! I mean wow, best tacos I have had in a very long time. Ordered ground beef tacos and I really enjoyed them! The beef was very fresh, not very greasy, and the portioning was perfect. Also the tortillas used are sooooo good! I ordered take out and met the owner while I was there. She was very nice and accommodating - as well as her employees. The atmosphere is very good, the whole place is very clean and organized and I would definitely consider dining in sometime. I also ordered gauc and chips, the gauc was very good and fresh. You can tell that there is very good procedure and management here. Highly recommended, and I definitely will be back!
