Jackie Smalls – My New Favorite Brunch Spot!

I don’t usually go out for brunch because most places serve the same old eggs and pancakes, but Jackie Smalls completely changed my mind. This has to be my favorite breakfast/brunch spot I’ve tried!

I ordered the Freekeh Bowl, Grains of Nazareth, and French Toast, and every dish was incredibly fulfilling and well-balanced. But let me tell you—the French Toast was hands down the best I’ve ever had. They use sourdough bread infused with rose, which adds such a unique flavor. The whipped cream on the side was unbelievably fresh (unlike anything I’ve had before!), and the maple syrup had just the right amount of sweetness.

If you haven’t been to Jackie Smalls yet, you need to give it a try. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Came here with a few of my close girlies for brunch recently. So the girls have been there before and really enjoyed the food so they brought me here. The atmosphere is really cute and adorable. Not many seating options since it’s like a small cafe. One thing that was interesting was you choose your own seat and then you walk up to order which is typical for cafes but also serves almost restaurant food. The menu has a great variety of food Lunch foods and breakfast foods. I typically order savory food for lunch so I deiced to order something sweet. I got their French toast because the rose water whipped cream sounded so good! When it finally came I won’t lie I was scared for my life and confused. I was served three small French baguettes instead of toast. Now it looks aesthetically pleasing to the eyes but worst choice ever. Taste of the baguettes just doesn’t taste like French toast whatsoever it’s just eating crunchy rough bread. I loved the whipped cream and the syrup and the fresh raspberry. I just don’t enjoy sawing through rough bread. When you first get the dish it’s not as tough to get through but I won’t say it’s easy. If you let the bread sit while chatting it’ll get hard as a rock. I’m sorry but please change your choice of bread to maybe like a nice thick cut of brioche bread toast. I would 100% tell people to get the French toast if it was made how French toast should be with some kind of toast dipped in a proper batter with lots of cinnamon and a good splash of vanilla. But I’ll never recommend anyone to order French baguettes that are hard as a rock. Never add something on your menu for looks because you think it looks good. Its 50% taste and 50% looks this was good taste of the whipped cream and syrup but no taste of the baguette and good looks bad combo. I will go back to try some of the bowls because they smelt and looked really good. But I’m sorry i cant recommend this dish just the cafe.

As my wife commented “very cute & clean inside”. We’ve eaten in and taken out the dishes we had were superb. Great service while I was waiting they invited me to sit at a table and brought me their infused water.

Gets crowded here but for good reason. Amazing service & food. Out of the 3 different "Jackie" locations I know of, this is easily the best one because of the quality of service and interior comforts.

The other two locations are better for picking up & eating at home. The menus are relatively the same with only minor differences. I highly recommend the avocado toast at any of them, which normally comes with egg but they are open to substitution

To be honest, I think the biggest difference of the three is plainly put, Hector himself! He makes every visit feel above & beyond at the Wayne location. Thank you Hector

The atmosphere is really nice, the place is very well designed. The staff is very friendly and helpful :) the problem is the taste of the food :( we ordered taste of home which was good, the french toast was amazing however the bread was too hard, they could use different type of bread and this would make it easier to eat, so another thing that we ordered the Jackie’s breakfast omlette, which was very disappointing, there was no seasoning in the omlette and french fries was too bitter, maybe it was not for my palate, and when I talked about my concern they handled very well. I appreciate it. Then I ordered Shakshuka, it was not the very best! So overall, the atmosphere, the staff and the vibe is 10 out of 10, however, for the breakfast menu, I cannot say the same thing :(

Awesome hangout spot for yummy food, coffee, and baked goods. Important to note: my BLTA was fresh, delicious, and clearly assembled with care, which is rare these days!

This is not a family welcome establishment. We came in at 1.30pm on a Saturday and it was bustling but there was still a couple of empty tables so we felt lucky. A waitress tried to sit us, 2 adults and 2 young kids, but someone from behind the bar interrupted to tell us it would be a 20-25 minute wait for a table. It was pretty clear that they would rather take the chance of waiting and seating four full-paying adults than take 2 kids that will most likely share a plate. That's not the level of service that warrants re-visiting. We've eaten there before without the kids, this sudo Mediterranean food is mediocre and overpriced, so it's clear they are targeting a younger, hip, prepared to overspend crowd rather than young families.

If you don’t mind being inside a small, noisy cafeteria style eatery, then you may like the place. The chai tea was delicious, the cauliflower appetizer was okay if you like a blander flavor and the breakfast burrito was okay but lacked something such as hot sauce. The Jackie Smalls omelette was good, potatoes a little oily. Try for yourself, other great menu options we didn’t try. Mediterranean cafe worth the visit.
