The cauliflower tahini sandwich is soo good! Definitely glad we have this in Weehawken! For those who eat meat everyone loves the BLAT.

Today I witnessed something that really impressed me. Coming from NYC you can really appreciate good customer service. Emily a lovely young lady was behind the counter and she presented herself so well in the face of an irate middle aged lady who instead of trying to compromise on the absence of the gluten free bread immediately jumped down Emily's throat. I have to admit I felt like I was back in NYC and oddly enough I felt like I was home again. But I want my new environment to feel more at peace and even though that was not the case with this client and how she reacted to something that could have been easily resolved; I observed how effortlessly Emily took control and handled the situation while maintaining her respect. Thanks to the Gotan staff because I love your cappuccino's, your great big smiles and those adorable uniforms.

I ordered an espresso and the chicken sandwitch. The espresso beans were excellent but it was warm not hot like it should be. The chicken sandwitch at $16 w a side salad. The salad was drenched in dressing and the chicken was dried out. The sandwitched was also drenched in sauce. Not a pleasant experience.

Gotan has amazing food and coffee. I absolutely love this location. Parking can be challenging but totally worth it. I had the breakfast special and it was delicious.

Everything was great until I had to use the restroom. On my way there, the worker said, "Uh, we're closed," to which I replied, "I just have to go to the bathroom." She then said,"I just cleaned it." I apologized, and with an attitude, she told me to just go ahead. When she served me, she should have told me something like, "We're closing soon, and the bathroom is closed." Why would you take me in as a customer, lock me in with you, then deny me the bathroom? She made me feel like a second-class citizen. Not really how you want to feel after visiting a boutique café. I'm new to the area and I'm pretty disappointed. The coffee and treats are good. I'm definitely coming back, but if I see her again, I'll just go to Dunkin Donuts next door, unfortunately.

I very randomly came across this GEM in UberEats. Decided to place an order for pickup as I had errands to run and I’ve been craving a great BLT.. Well… My expectations were surpassed!!BLAT!!!! My love! Where have you been! Perfectly cooked bacon! Crisp lettuce and ripe tomato on perfectly toasted multigrain bread with herb mayo is chefs kiss!!! The sandwich was neatly prepared which shows they care about presentation. This was hands down the best BLAT I’ve had in years!!The packaging was an added delight. Neatly packaged in their branded wrapping.I plan to go in for the full cafe experience next time!
