Sadly, they no longer have pizza & that was hands-down my favorite thing about this place (y'all, the pizza was SO good) so it's not on my list anymore. But the owners are lovely & I wish them all the success in the world.

Great ambiance and service. We ordered sparkling wine, ribeye, and mousse to celebrate a recent event. Everything was delicious.

Would have given five stars as the food is very good but portions are small so I always get the most amazing pizza in the state as an appetizer or pick it up to go very often. They no longer serve that very good amazing pizza so the entrée and appetizer portions are kind of small although tasty. Hopefully they'll get the pizza back because it truly is the best pizza I have ever had as well as everyone I know who's gone there. Makes a great appetizer to go with the otherwise delicious food.

Be aware! They charge different amount to credit card company!

after reading all these positive reviews, at one point i suspect myself went to another dimension. my experience with this restaurant was way down to hell, started right at the door, unreasonable waiting time with restaurant full of staffs and two table of customers. staffs are far worse than you dealing with dmv. foods were dry and sad, i barely able to swallow the chicken sandwich. and then two day later, i found out they added another $34 on top of the signed credit card slip. how dare...

My first experience here a porter ,I will not be returning I'm very disappointed after receiving my French martini. I truly believe hooters could have made a better drink . Ordered a cheeseburger and fries thinking a $20 burger can't be bad. It was terrible the bun was stale and the cheese was not melted no sides just sad

I went there for brunch around 12pm, didn't make a reservation. The restaurant wasn't packed when I got there, but I felt I was constantly waiting - waiting to be seated, waiting to get water, waiting to order food, waiting to get my utensils, and waiting to get the check. The only thing that came fast was the food. the service staff that we saw didn't had any smile, the interaction just felt cold. I usually check the menu from the website first before I go in to any restaurant, but this restaurant has different menu in the restaurant. I like to order Eggs Benedict (or similar thing) when I try a new place for brunch and this place only offer it as prix fixe course (2 courses + drink @ $45). I asked if I can order Eggs Benny as a la carte but they refused and there are only four or five menu options for a la carte, which in my opinion, is very very few. I would say the food is good, but the a la carte doesn't come with greens or home fries like a lot of places do, so overall it is pricey consider its portion. I will not be back.

Excellent service, food was delicious. I would definitely recommend. Appetizers were good and mains were great but the desserts were fantastic! Pleasant time for especially a group! Also, very good drinks!

I hate to be writing this because Porter has been a local spot for us that we have enjoyed. We have had a lot of great meals here and continued to go back, despite the high prices and mediocre service. However they lost us as a customer tonight. We ordered the $85 ribeye and asked for it to be medium rare. When it came, it was completely cooked through and would have a hard time passing for medium. We eat a lot of steak and have never returned one. Usually when you order an $85 steak the restaurant ensures it is cooked to your liking. When we told the waiter, he had to go get the manager. It took 15 minutes for the manager to come out and she was combative, not apologetic and not accommodating. She told us that the chef/owner cooks the ribeyes that way. And then after going in to talk to the chef she literally came out with a raw steak with some bizarre explanation from the chef and saying how he used to work at Mark Forgione in the city (eye roll). Ultimately we decided to get something else and we were pretty shocked to see nothing was comped from the meal and no one came back out to apologize. If the chef wants to cook the meat a certain way, they should tell customers that when they are ordering. If we had been told that we could only get medium to medium well steak, we would not have ordered it in the first place. Secondly, I’ve never seen customers treated so rude. Even the table next to us couldn’t believe their reaction.

Really excellent neighborhood joint. Great bar program and delicious pizzas and perfectly cooked steaks. Service is on point and bartender is very friendly as well. If sitting at the bar, ask for Senna. She knows how to whip up your favorite cocktail. Great experience here and will be returning!

Modern American menu. Yummy oysters, a la carte, and cocktails. Also offers a good brunch menu. Prices are on the expensive side but it's a clean, comfortable and chic spot, and right next to the water if you decide to go for a walk. Good desert options too. Very friendly staff.

The owners respond with boiler plate language with something around them not tolerating harassment from customers. Just to be clear this was absolutely not the case, we very kindly informed them of the steak being too well done.

Have been away for six months, when we came back to town, it was first on our list of places to go. So good! Food is amazing, the people are great. We just love sitting outdoors on a warm summer night. We started with the beet and endive salad. Sounds straight-forward, right? Somehow, it was magic. The tastes unfolding, layered. My wife had the spinach ravioli which was excellent, and I had the pork -- melt in your mouth perfection. The owner frequently stops by and chats, we love all the waitstaff. Our favorite restaurant Jersey side of the Hudson.

This restaurant has done everything right! Good food, good service, good vibes! The vibe at this gastropub is hipster trendy. It's a good place for a date or just to lounge with friends! The menu changes so you will never be bored coming over and over! I've been here twice. Both times I ordered the margherita pizza and it was consistently good. Crust was just right and Sauce is on point. Mozzarella cheese is good! Other dishes we've tried here: Black angus hangar steak - it was tender and melt-in-your-mouth good! Pasta dish with wagyu bolognese sauce- very tasty with lots of wagyu bits. This was good and was ordered again on our 2nd visit. Naturally raised green circle chicken- you have to get this! Chicken is so moist and tasty! It's the moistest chicken I've ever tasted! The chicken is infused with flavor! Burrata- My kid now craves this ever since we had this here! I just wish the portions were a little bigger. It's also a little pricey but it's worth it if you want to treat yourself!

Good food, small portions, pricey If you want a nice-ish place for a special occasion and well prepared food, this is a fine option. The menu is pretty limited, with the usual meat options, pasta, salad, etc. We had the fish special with leek and potato broth ($32) and the pork chop with apple miso glaze ($28), both tasted great. Pork chops did have a bit of fat on it, which wasn't our fave. Not sure if it's because we're used to the western large portions but these portions were pretty small especially given the cost. We wished that there was at least one side, instead of having to pay $10 for either potatoes or spinach. Pizzas seemed to be a good size. The service was alright but would have expected better. There's street parking if you can find it and the public parking by the ferry which was $10 for a couple hours. Free parking is pretty hard to find on this area which is a bummer. It's also close to the light rail stop.
