Over all when we do visit it's always a great experience. Our server could have checked in more often , but besides that always enjoy the food and ambiance.

When we walked in no ac is working. The day was a warm humid rainy night. The ceiling was leaking on my mom and there were drip spots all over the floor throughout. Smelled like cigar because right next store is a cigar shop. Service was wonderful. Food was ok. We had the burger and fries. Probably not going back.

Overall our experience at the Highwood was very good. Great server and most of our food was good. My only concern way the sushi roll. The nori used was thick and rubbery, difficult to chew. I typically think of nori as a thin slightly crunchy flavor so this was unusual and I did not care for it. I checked with the manager and he confirmed with the chef that it should be this way.

My friend and I ate outside on a very pleasant evening so I really couldn't comment appropriately on the interior ambiance other than to say it was on the dark side for my taste. The menu was unusual, and in our case the service was slow. That being said, I could get used to the menu and one experience with slow service would not prevent me from going back. It's a convenient meeting place for ferry-takers.

I sat outside for a little brunch date food was exceptional, it's worth the price, the dishes on the other hand had a faint smell. My mimosa was made poorly, the syrup was outside the glass and made the glass sticky. The spicy margarita is really good

Fun vibe. Great server. Amazing old fashions (menu doesn't say it but they were smoked!! Yum). Big bowl of muscles with just the tip balance of seasoned deliciousness. Roasted potato side was oh so yum. The truffle sliders were perfect. Smash burger was huge. Manager came by a couple times to check in- nice touch.

The food is mediocre and significantly overpriced — you're really just paying for the view. Unfortunately, the service is still just as poor as it was a few years ago, when we decided not to return. We gave it another shot for the sake of our out-of-town guests, hoping things had improved, but nothing has changed. It's disappointing, especially because this place has so much potential to be a truly great restaurant.

I want to be very clear that I am a very private person and don’t ever like to disclose who my family really is! Made a reservation with the manager at about 1pm to come back at 8:30 to watch Boxing and UFC. He was very accommodating and wasn’t actually going to get boxing but he did for us, which is very nice of him! BUT the staff… Within the first 30 seconds, the hostess was giving us attitude and ALOT of sass. I then asked if we could get a different table since she was seating us at a 3 seater and we had a party of 4. She actually ROLLED her eyes at me!!! Super rude. She was the tall blonde here! Awful! Then stormed off without saying anything so we had no clue if she was making us sit there?!?! I then walked up to the hostess stand and she immediately turned around and in my face made emphasis that she had it handled (very rudely)! So she almost shoulder-checked me and walked us right back to the same table!!! 😂 the audacity haha! BUT I HAVE MORE!!!! Our server omg something else… didn’t check on us. I actually timed it 42 whole minutes and we had only ordered DRINKS😂 told us to let her know when we were ready to order and DIDNT COME TIL SHE ME STARING HER DOWN WHILE TALKING TO HER WAITRESS FRIENDS HAHAHA AWFUL and don’t even think about getting the cream spinach starter. Nasty! It’s spinach soup💩
I have been to the Highwood many times before. This time was not as enjoyable as my other experiences and it's mainly because of the service. I was rushed from my table because there were other reservations. My waitress seemed as if she was uninterested in being at work. Energy resonates. The food was okay, not the best but the drinks are always on point.

Overall the ambiance is great for drinks and bar food. BUT-Menú has changed and in my opinion not for the best. The buttermilk chicken sandwich was great now not so good with the new bread which is very dry. The lomo meat was tender but the new sauce was not good and unfortunately, the waiter forgot our order a few times so some of us waited a long time for food and drinks. My kid enjoyed the pizza and burger was good too. So 3 stars on this one.
